Hey Folx!

A few people have expressed interest in reading about my adventures in self-publishing, so I have decided to share my journey here. Considering it is very hard to get people to talk about their publishing journey (whether it is self, traditional, or otherwise), I want to help share this experience so that others who wish to go down the path sort of have an idea what to expect.

Now, I'll start by saying my journey is going to be different from others, obviously. What I like someone else might not. And that is okay, we all do life in our own way.

My experience is with a Vancouver Island based company that I reached out to. They do all the nitty gritty stuff that my mind didn't understand (formatting, ISBN's, barcodes, copyright pages, etc...), while I still retain 100% rights to my book and have full control of it. This company guides writers-to-authors through a self-publishing journey. They are employee owned, which means (if I am correct), they find the right people who SUIT your needs and your books needs. Rather than having an editor who likes non-fiction self-help books editing your fantasy novel, they have someone who is INTERESTED in your style/genre/themes. I think this makes a world of a difference not just with editing, but especially with cover design.

So, without much more rambling (as I am GREAT at that), I will be documenting my journey.

It's a seven month process, and I am about a month into it, so bear with me.
