I'm sitting in the car, watching the trees go by. It feels like I've been sitting here for hours.

"Mom?" I ask. "When will we be at the airport?" My mom turns around in the front seat to face me.

"In about fourty minutes. We've only been in the car for ten!" We live in... well, basically nowhere. We actually don't live in a town. We live outside city limits.

A few minutes later (I think it's been a few minutes) I have to pee.

"Dad!" I yell a little too loudly.

"Don't yell in the car, Sara." He says.

"But I have to PEE!" I'm bouncing in my seat.

"Fine, there should be a gas station near here, but that's still no reason to yell." I can see the trees clearing up ahead. Now there are fields on both sides of the road, filled with dry grass.

Soon I can see buildings lined up along the road.

"There's a gas station." My mom says. My dad pulls the car into the gas station parking lot.

"Skedaddle," My dad says, waving his arm for emphasis. I jump up out of my seat and run towards the entrance to the building.

After I'm finished, I skip back out into the parking lot. Our car is the only one there. I can hear voices through the open window.

"Sara's too young for that. She's eleven years old, for heaven's sake!" My mom's voice says.

"But what if she gets curious?" My dad says. "I mean, if she-" I open the car door.

"Okay, let's go." I say. My parents look terrified. "What's wrong?" I ask.

"Did you... hear?" My mom questions.

        "Hear what?" I say.

"Never mind..." My dad says slowly. The car pulls out of the parking lot and we're back on the road. As I stare at the rolling fields, I start to feel drowsy...

"Sara... Sara..." I feel a hand on my shoulder, shaking me awake. It's my mom. "We're at the airport." She says. My dad is taking our luggage out of the trunk. I get out of the car, and he hands me my bag. We walk towards the main building of the airport. As soon as I realize, we in line to board a plane.

"Have a good time in Mexico!" The stewardess says cheerfully.

"Yeah... Sure..." I mumble. My mom is pushing me into the tunnel leading to the plane.

"You don't have to do that!" I snap. She doesn't say anything. She steers me down the isle of the plane and into my seat. I buckle in, and soon the plane is taking off.
