Just a forewarning, this chapter may seem slightly confusing, but all will be explained very soon.

"Sir, shes here" spoke DD
Neil looked up from his desk, today he would see the woman who was going out of her way to destroy all of his businesses.
Neil stood up and followed DD to the foyer, he looked at the long black hair that trailed down the woman's back
The wind made her hair rise and then fall back onto her back
"Show your face then" spoke Neil roughly

The woman turned around slowly and offered him a heartbreaking smile
She outstretched her hand "Mr Khanna"
"Avni" Neil muttered
"Its been 3 years, I" he stepped forward to hug her when a guard stood infront of her, stopping Neil from getting any closer to her
"Its been you that did all of this"
Avni nodded "Teaches you to cheat twice"
She turned to her guards "Get him out of here"

Neil struggled in their hold "What, this is my office, you cant kick me out of here"
"Not anymore its not, I can do what I like"
Neil was dragged away and Avni finally let her shoulders sag, lowering her head she wiped her tears
She looked out the window as Neil was thrown to the floor
"Neil" she shouted, placing her hand on the window
As if he had heard her he dusted his trousers off and looked up

"Im not leaving till you come down here" Neil shouted
Avni pushed the window open and he shouted again
Huffing loudly she walked down the stairs and outside
"Just listen to me" Neil begged
Avni put her hand up, stopping him in mid-sentence "No, you listen to me, the night I decided to stay in your room after my father shot you, I woke up the next morning to see Riya had text you saying she had left her bra under your bed, I looked and I found it"

Neil shook his head "Avni, it was planted there, I dont know when she put it there, but I would never do that to you"
He stepped forward, grabbing her shoulders
"You know I love you"
Avni shoved him back "No, I loved you, I was ready to start again, but you broke my heart, at first I didnt want to be here, I didnt want to live, but then I woke up, smelt the coffee as you say and I decided the only revenge I could have on you was to be the best me I could, now look how succesful I am"

"I dont care about the damn companies or the businesses, but I am telling you Riya played us, it was all planned Avni, just think"
"Dont lie to me Neil, she didnt just break in, anyway its over, it has been for 3 years, now get off of my property"
A man stood behind Avni, lowering his head he kissed her cheek, Neil's eyes zoned on his arm around his Avni's waist
"Whos this Avni"
Avni glared at Neil "No one special"

Neil felt as if his heart had broken all over again "You moved on" he whispered
"Yes and you should to"
Neil was dragged away from Avni by one of her guards
"This isnt over, Avni" he shouted, grappling with the guards
When he was out of sight, Avni stood away from the man
"Was that Neil"
Avni nodded, wiping her tears
"Is it possible hes telling the truth"
"No Zafar, no it isnt"

Flashback-

Avni ran down the stairs as fast as she could, climbing in her car she drove to the bridge and pulled over
Closing her eyes she climbed onto the bridge, closing her eyes she put her right foot forward
"I loved you Neil, why did you do this to me" she sobbed
As she went to jump a hand grabbed her wrist and dragged her down
"No, no, let me die, I dont want to be alive" Avni sobbed, slapping her saviours chest

It had taken Zafar a long time to get through to Avni, to make her strong again.
Avni was greatful for everything Zafar had done for her, although at first he was nothing but a stranger, he was now her greatest friend and biggest supporter.
Zafar rested a hand on her shoulder
"I lost my wife, because I commited the same crime Neil did, if theres even a small part of you that thinks he could be telling you the truth then give him a chance"

Avni smiled "Neil isnt a good man like you Zafar, he didnt learn from his mistake"
Zafar looked down sadly "I took to long to realise my mistake, not everything is how we see it"

Okay so a huge twist I know, let me explain.
Zafar also cheated on his wife, because of this she commited suicide, so he is a widow.
When he saw Avni going to commit suicide he saved her and made her strong again, theyre not in love or together, just friends.
The morning after Neil got shot, Avni found a message on his phone from Riya saying she had left her bra there under the bed, Avni found it and left.
This chapter takes place 3 years after that morning.
