Her name is Ling. She is 'The Lotus Maiden'. Many centuries ago a woman went to a pond near her village, weeping at its shore for the loss of yet another child she bore that was born without breath.

A celestial being took pity on the woman, producing a Peach of Immortality to her and crushing it upon a white lotus that bloomed in the water. The woman was instructed to eat the lotus and she would be granted a child with breath. So the woman did, soon carrying a child and giving birth to a healthy baby girl.

That when Ling was born. Only, when the child was born, her blood had become imbued with the power of the Peach of Immortality along with the powers that the celestial being used to help the woman bare a child. Ling grew into a beautiful young woman, her beauty physical and spiritual. She was the beauty of the village until Ling became The Lotus Maiden as celestial realm knows her existence. Every demons in the mortal world will hunt Ling down to devour her so they can become more powerful.

Some demons are smart and would claim the Lotus Maiden as their bride. Yes, they could gain amazing power by devouring The Lotus Maiden. But the demon only have that power for a short time, and a small drop of blood can do the same as eating a whole limb.
