Pokemon and I

When I was 6 years old, I still remember that I joined the Summer Camp that is about Pokemon. All of them are activities that are related to the Pokemon characters, and every noon, we watch the Pokemon episodes during lunch time, if I'm not wrong, they are the episodes from the original series, and seeing Bayleef, Cyndaquil, Totodile, I think it is Generation 2.

After the camp is over, I just think that Pokemon is nothing special and I'm more focused on Yu-Gi-Oh or other card games. When there is a new game called Pokémon Battrio appeared in the shopping mall near my house, I started to gain interest in the game and tried to get as many pucks as I could. I still remember the first normal Pokemon I got was a Sneasel, and the first Legendary Pokemon was Palkia. Since it is already the fourth generation, the ads are mostly Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, and their evolutions.

With the spark of Pokemon coming back, I decided to rewatch the anime from the TV. They are showing the Diamond and Pearl Series, I really like the battle between Ash and Paul, and I also like Dawn more than Misty. I was basically a Pearlshipper at that time. The first movie that I actually watched in Pokemon was Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, it has been a lot of years since that movie's debut in 2005, so I guess that TV channel already brought it and showed it on the channel. But after that movie, I decided to search for more movies on the computer and see if I could see them. Especially the Arceus one, because I really like how it can change types.

When Generation 5 came out, I think I was already in grades 6 to 7, and I saw how my friends were playing Pokemon using DS. My family is a family that more focus on studying and not playing, so the only console I have is a Wii, and there aren't many games to play with, they're mostly Mario games. Despite not being able to play Black, White, or Black 2, White 2, I manage to look into every Pokemon from Generation 5 and I try to memorize every one of them. It wasn't easy, but I think I actually did it. With all 156 Generation 5 Pokemon memorized, I decided to move further to see if I could memorize all the Pokemon from Generation 1 to 4. My friends usually try to quiz me on what kind of Pokemon are and what their types are.

When 3DS came out, the sixth generation came out, and I finally bought my first Pokemon game: Pokemon Y. I like to watch videos from YouTube, and with the walkthroughs, I like to watch Pokemon Youtubers like Munching Orange and Tyranitartube, and with the Bulbapedea and Serebii, they are my guides to beat Pokemon Y version. When I beat the game, I started to wonder... if I can memorize all Pokemon, can I actually get all the Pokemon in the National Dex? I think it is impossible for me because, in XY, the only Legendary Pokemon in the game are Yveltal, Zygarde, Mewtwo, and Articuno since I picked Chespin as the Starter. There wasn't something like Nintendo Switch Online, so I could do the trades without any problem.

However, when I try to trade a useless egg away, the trader decides to trade me a Darkrai! A Mythical Pokemon Darkrai? That was the first Mythical Pokemon I got from the trades, and then I decided to do it again, and this time I got an Arceus! Not just a regular one, but the one that can learn Roar of Time, Spacial Rend, and Shadow Force! I believe maybe if I continue to do this, I might be able to get all the Pokemon eventually! So I tried to continue trading and continue using GTS, and I can't believe it happened. I got all Legendary and Mythical Pokemon in the end, I was so happy that I posted it on my Facebook page. However, the same luck can't be said when I do Alpha Sapphire, in that game I just beat it and just leave it there.

As for the anime, I followed every episode of Best Wishes and decided to watch the Japanese version every week, I started to learn how the gyms worked and how the type matchups also worked, which really helped me when I played the Y version. I was really happy when Dawn reappeared in the Black and White series, but I also frowned because Ash didn't win the Unova League and he did worse than Sinnoh. But in the Kalos series, they introduced a new character Serena, and she has a childhood story with Ash. It was then I changed my shipping into Amourshipping because of it. I really like how Serena shows that she has feelings for Ash. And when the Battle Bond Greninja appears, it has become one of my favorite Pokemon. My biggest sadness about the anime is that they make Ash lose the league again... especially since I think Ash will win this time...

Now for Generation 7, I played the Moon Version and I was into the story. When they introduced the Z Crystal mechanics, I wanted to be able to use all of them, that's why I started to plan my Alola Team and hope that it covers every type so I can use any Z move I want. And because I didn't want to try the trade method of getting every Pokemon, so I finally persuaded my parents to let me buy Pokemon Bank and transfer all the Pokemon there. And when Ultra Moon appears, I buy it again to put the Pokemon to that game as well, so basically, in the Ultra Moon, I can just sweep through my team with all the 100 level Pokemon in my game, but I decide not to because of the level cap, and in the end, I wasn't able to get Zeraora to complete the living Dex...

As for the anime, at first, I wasn't interested in the pairing of Ash with the three Alolan girls until I saw my very first Pokemon Fanfic on the Fanfiction net. It is called 'Alola to our Savior'. It is a story of how every trainer and Pokemon betray Ash and he is truly alone without any Pokemon or friends to the Alola. The pairing is Lillie and Ash and I start to like the pairing. And in Wattpad, the first story that I saw with this shipping is 'Blindsided to the Champion', which made my feelings for the ship grow. I still like Amourshipping, so I like both Serena and Lillie. I also started to watch the Manga, from the first volume to the current volume. I watched how different it showed compared to the games or the anime, and it is actually much darker, I somehow prefer Manga to Anime. Although the author of the manga stopped updating in Black 2 and White 2 as he's focused on the further chapters like XY, Omega Ruby Alpha Sapphire... Black 2 and White 2 are actually my favorite Pokemon game back then...

When Switch comes out, as usual, my parents refuse to let me buy Pokemon Switch, and I have to try saving money until I have enough to buy Switch lite and get Pokemon Shield for my game. My parents are quite refusing to buy something online because they're victims of credit card fraud. Sometimes we just find our money disappearing without knowing why. As for the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra, it was not until my 20th birthday that they finally agreed to buy it for me as a birthday gift. As for the Pokemon Home, I use the Nintendo points to get them.

Once I get into university, I don't actually need to ask for permission from my parents, and that's why I buy Let's Go Pikachu, Shining Pearl, Legends Arceus, and even Violet with DLC on my own, and now I can play every game without any problem. As for the anime, I was really hopeful to have the Galar anime, but it never happened, and replacing that is Pokemon Journeys. My friends and I really didn't like Goh at first because of his arrogance, but I started to like the series when Ash captured the Pokemon that I thought would be great for him and even got Mega Evolution, meeting Serena and Lillie again, and even beating the Champions including Leon. I am also sad when they decide to retire Ash. But I think it is inevitable because I know that Ash's voice actress is really old.

A year ago, my friends asked me if I could memorize all the Pokemon, what about the Abilities and the Moves, as well as the items and the locations, can I actually memorize all of them? The thing is, I can't memorize all the items or the locations, especially the ones in Legends Arceus, but I practiced this a lot using Sporcle, and I think I can say I memorize all the Pokemon abilities and the moves, including the new ones here in the Teal Mask. It is not that easy, and sometimes I forget about the moves that I shouldn't forget, like Mind Reader, Splash, Last Resort, or abilities like Solid Rock, Gulp Missile, and Arena Trap.

If you're asking me about TCG, then I should say that I didn't play it because I prefer Yu-Gi-Oh when it comes to card games and not others. As for other side games, I didn't play that much. I played Pokemon Go because I wanted to get a Meltan and Melmetal to transfer into my game for the living dex, and I played Pokemon Rumble Rush and Pokemon Shuffle until I grew tired of them. The only one I'm still playing now is Pokemon Masters EX. Because I really like to see how different characters in the game interact with each other and their special battling styles.

I still watch a lot of YouTube videos about Pokemon, and I have started to subscribe to more Pokemon Youtubers to watch their content, like MandyJTV, PM7, Patterz, Adrive, and so on. I really like the different opinions of the game, and I also like the John Michael Cup as well, which ended a few weeks ago. I also like how MandyJTV talks about some things that I usually like to discuss with my friends, such as unused moves or type combinations.

And this will be the end of my first part. I don't know how many parts there will be, but in the next chapter, I'll be talking about my Fanfiction writing and some thoughts about it.
