Lengthy, enticing claws beckon me down a path I know far too well
Each rock of gravel has known me since my early youth
Each turn in the road expects I will be due back and is never wrong
I tell myself it will be different this time but that isn’t how the trail winds
It would be different this time right?

Grand forests line the path I dare cross once more
This time there aren’t as many eyes watching me from the shadows
Perhaps things would be different
When I reach the end of the road maybe I won’t make the same mistake again
I will stop before it gets too late in the evening and my feet will not slip
So that at the end of day I do not go home with broken bones
