While going through my sketchbook, I had come across some old drawings of my pets so I decided to make a reference sheet for them.

Here are my two precious boys.

Since I made these reference sheets for them, I think I should tell you their backstories.

We'll start off with Zac because he was the first one I got.

Seven years ago back when I was six or seven, my disowned uncle (don't ask) found a small kitten around two or three weeks old being attacked by a much older and bigger cat. My uncle rescued him and gave him to my family because he didn't want to send the kitten to a shelter. I quickly fell in love with him and called him Zachary or Zac for short after Zack from The Suite Life On Deck (Please tell me someone remembers that show). Over the years, we grew up together and created a bond I never thought I'd be able to have. Funny thing about him is, he absolutely hates my father and big brother but loves me, my mum and my grandmother. He's a big mama's boy to put it simply.

Next up is Shadow.

At the age of two years old, he was rescued by my grandmother from a very abusive household and was given to me on Christmas Eve which to me seems like an early birthday present to him because he was born on Boxing Day. I immediately fell in love with him and spent these past three years caring for him and giving him the love he deserves. Even though he went through so much, he's so full of life and wants nothing more than to give and receive love.

I treat both them equally since they're my baby boys as they always will be.

It's amazing how they had such rough starts at the beginning of their lives but have so much love to give. They've always been there for me when others weren't and I will always hold them dear to my heart. This is a wonderful reason why you should adopt rescue animals instead of going to pet shops, they're the ones with the most love to give and deserve to be given a second chance just like Shad and Zac were.

While writing this, I actually began to tear up...
