GoldenTheFangirl Mj_Neverland (this is my opinion on how Dylan might be like when he grows up)

Some people just don't get it. There may be a chance that the afterlife is real, or not. I'd go with the last one. I don't believe in the afterlife. Specifically with those harps, or fancy stuff or whatever. It's not how reality works. It never has and it never will.

I stared off into space as always. Hi, I'm Dylan Rosewater and I sorta have anxiety problems. I worry about almost everything. It's thing I kinda got from my dad. Except, I'm way less depressed.

I stared off at the fireworks for my sister's birthday. She's turning 30 this year, I mean today, and it's kinda weird. I looked down from the tree to see the people launching the fireworks, and of course it's my mom and dad. They loved each other, really really much ever since I was born. My sister, Lily, once told me about their story and how there was those difficult times between them. I guess it was all worth it to them because I could see it through their smiles.

Then I looked down at my side to see myself in the mirror. I had my grandma's eyes and my father's hair, blue skin and a purple nose both from my parents. My sister had bright blue eyes and looks almost exactly like Mom. I was... kinda much of an accident compared to Lily. Except, I was an accident that was accepted. Then I looked back at my parents who WERE APPARENTLY NOT WEARING SAFETY GEAR-

"Mom! Dad! What are you doing?!" I screamed on the top of my lungs. How do they not know how unsafe being near fireworks are?!

"Dylan? Oh no..." my mom said. My dad just sighed. Maybe they never should've accepted me. Then I felt a hand on my shoulder and turned my head around to see Lily giving me that always warm smile on her face.

"Dylan, cmon. I have cake, and it's your favorite flavor," She said calmly. I never understood how she's always like that around me.

"But... isn't it supposed to be your favorite flavor?" I asked.
She chuckled, "It's fine. Don't worry about it."

She's the greatest sister I could ever wish for.

"Well, thanks Lily." I said, giving a half smile. As she brought me back inside the pod, I could only see a few people I remember. Barely anyone went to her birthday which is... sad.

"No problem," She said without a care about her party. "As long as you are happy, I'm happy."

I looked out the window to see my parents kissing. They looked really happy together, and I'm really happy for them as well. I sat down on the chair next to the table and started eating the slice of cake. Lily sat next to me, eating her piece of cake too. I looked at the stitches cuts from her blue arms. She had those years ago, I guess she's still standing after all those trouble she's been in.

Like her ex, depression (which is a side effect of dying), and maybe even anything I can't possibly imagine.

"So Dylan, are you... planning to have a girlfriend?" I heard her ask and I almost choked on the cake that was in my mouth. I pounded my chest and swallowed. I looked at her. "Excuse me? What is... a girlfriend...?"

She practically snickered. "You're joking. You know what I mean." She sighed in a happy way and wrapped her arm around my shoulders to which I shuffled her arm off.

"Uh, no. I am not looking toward any relationship right now," I leaned towards her ear and said, "Remember girl cooties?"
"Oh cmon, I'm a girl." She said.
"But you're my sister! It's different!" I added.

"Girls have those strange and oddly satisfying smells that makes you tingle and I know, OH I KNOW it's a trap to get you into their zone and then break you into pieces because they're demons!" I almost screamed again. Lily looked at me as if I grew another head which I probably did and shall be named 'Anxiety.'

"Alrighty then..." Lily said, slowly turning her head away. I faced her and turned my chair to face her own.

"You have to trust me. Who knows that maybe you'll be one of them!" I realized something and backed away from her. "You probably already are."

"Oh hush, Dylon. I'm not." She chuckled and grabbed out empty plates and headed to the kitchen. I turned away and spaced out again. I was practically drowning in my own thoughts.

What have I become?
