My Personal Review

As all of us know, the Sonic The Hedgehog Movie that was originally supposed to be in 2019, but redesigned Sonic into the nearly perfect design he has now.

Seriously though, this thing looks like it was already a meme even it did become one at some point. Then in November, Paramount redesigned Sonic with the help of the famous Sega animation designer, Tyson Heese into what we see now as a masterpiece. Even though we all ranted (including me) about Sonic's old look, it was surprising to see Paramount and Sega listen to the fans for once as I said they redeemed themselves with the new look we all see now.

Now onto what I thought about the movie. I personally loved the movie and I thought they did an excellent job with almost everything... "almost." The movie wasn't flawless as there was somethings I felt like could've been either added, taken away or improved. For example, I wished we got to see more of Green Hill as we saw in the trailer or the fact that Sonic's eyes turn blue when he is emitting electricity from himself. Jim Carrey was an excellent star in this movie, he was probably the best Dr. Robotnik I have ever seen, he made him so funny in the movie that I couldn't stop just wanting to see him interact with the characters over and over again. The dance scene where Robotnik is analyzing Sonic's quill fur and dancing at the same time, was hilarious as I even just went onto YouTube to watch those scenes over and over again. I personally did wish that his suit was red for the entire film though as that's what the canon Dr. Eggman usually wears, but it is possible that they may bring that in the sequel. Speaking of a sequel, I was surprised to see Tails, appearing at the end of the movie as my jaw had dropped to the floor and it took me awhile to process if I was dreaming that Paramount will be developing a Sonic The Hedgehog 2 soon. Now about Tom Wachowski, I found him to be very intriguing throughout the movie and it took me by surprise that in the middle of the car scene, Sonic was the one to teach Tom a lesson of staying in Green Hills, Montana. Tom actually had the perfect personality in the movie as he was more of a sarcastic, humorous, and quirky guy than he was in the trailer. The fact that Sonic calls him "Donut Lord" in the movie for the fact that he talks and plays with donuts in the movie was funny and clever. One thing I kinda expected, but didn't expect at the same time was Sonic getting his shoes from Jojo, Tom and Maddie's niece. It was very confusing, but clever to how they used Sonic's iconic shoes in the trailer, but changed that in the movie. However, I actually should've expected something like this considering that we saw the baby Sonic trailer with Sonic having brown shoes already while handing a flower to his foster-mother Longclaw The Owl. In conclusion, I give this movie an 8.9/10 as I said it wasn't flawless, but a great movie for all of the Sonic fans.
