-Backstory- Nevaeh was born in Japan in the Chiba Prefecture. Growing up in Japan was hard for her since she happens to be mixed raced. Nevaeh's mother is Japanese and her father is African American, so she lived a life of stress. In school, she was always bullied by the other kids about her skin color; being called names and having things thrown at her. The adults weren't better either but they're more subtle with it, making comments here and there. All of this caused her to have problems with her skin color and who she was, as she was trying to fit their standards. It wasn't until her father found out and had a long conversation with her about it. Nevaeh then made a friend in school just like her, who happened to be Brazilian and Japanese. Her life started to change for the better and she began to have confidence in herself.
