Chloe's POV:

"Chloe, I'm back and...." She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw Alec sitting on the couch opposite me, I don't think I want to know what she's gonna do next.

"Well, well, well, Chloe has a boyfriend now, huh?" She asked again with a bright smile walking towards us at a very slow pace, I don't like where this is going

"No mum, he's not my boyfriend, he's just...."

"No need to be shy Chloe, should I get you guys something to eat?" She asked still smiling

"No, we're fine, he was just leaving anyways" I said nervously

"Come on, stay for a while let me get you a cup of tea and some cookies, what's your name again?" She asked

"It's Alec, Alec Winters" he responded obviously uncomfortable

"Alec?..Alec, I remember you, you were supposed to be Eric's best man for his wedding but you didn't show up anyways, now I see why, you were consoling her weren't you?" She asked him still smiling

"I can't show up for that sort of wedding, you know it wasn't right for Zoe to get married to Eric since he was already engaged to Chloe but you did it anyways, why?" He asked her with a raised eyebrow

"It isn't in your place to ask me questions, don't overstay your welcome honey, so what were you too talking about?, kisses and hugs?, wait...don't tell me you want to marry her?" She asked changing the topic to her favor

"What if I want......"

"Mum, we are not getting married, he was just leaving anyways" I interrupted Alec before he could say another word that may land me in trouble

"But we aren't...."

"Leave Alec!" I interrupted him again, just because mum walked just now interrupting out discussion, doesn't mean I have forgotten what he just did, I thought he would come here to talk to me and make me feel better but instead he made me feel worse, I don't understand who's side he's actually on, mine or Zoe's and Alec

"Chloe I..."

"Don't think I'm just gonna pretend like nothing happened, you're a bad friend to me and I'm not surprised you were actually on Eric's side all along, he is your best friend after all" I point out

"Chloe just....."

"Get out Alec!" I scream again before he got up and walked to the door, with one last glance at me, he was out of the house leaving me alone with mum

"Trouble in paradise?" She asked as soon as he was gone

"No mum, he's not my boyfriend and he probably never will be" I stated but as soon as those words left my mouth I found them hard to believe myself, 'he'll never be my boyfriend right?' I mentally asked my subconscience but of course, she's never there when you need her

"So what on Earth was he doing In my house" she asked, the smile disappearing from her face

"Mum he..."

"Do you know what I was planning to do to him if you hadn't made him leave just now?"she interrupted me angrily

"I'm sorry mum"

"Sorry for yourself, mind you, my house is not an hotel so the next time you bring a guy into this house I swear, I would literally kill you" she said back "And also, don't think you're going unpunished, you are grounded for this whole week" she continued

"Grounded?, I'm an adult for crying out loud and I can't even be grounded for the whole week, what about my birthday?" I asked and next thing, I got a slap from her.

"Who cares about your birthday? I already said you're grounded so forget about it, OK?" she said before turning to walk away but then she stopped and turned to face me again, "And just so you know, your father should never find out about your punishment or that I hit or else you'll just be making things worse for yourself, OK?" She said smiling again before finally walking off.

Zoe's POV:

"So what would you like to do then?" Aaron asked again

He called me some hours ago and we've been talking about my birthday coming up next week Tuesday. I was kinda Angry because he should have called earlier, I mean my birthday is on Tuesday and today is Friday, he's late....

"Well, I think my mum wants to throw me a party but I'm not interested in going there, I just wanted to spend it with you so I was hoping that you have any ideas" I replied him

"How about we spend it at a club?" He asked

"No, let's just spend it at your place, it would just be you and me then" I said again

"I don't think that's a good idea" he said

"It is, I'll sleep over if you want?" I asked

"OK, fine, so you'll be at my house on Tuesday and go back on Wednesday?"

"No, Thursday" I answered

"But then won't your family be looking for you?" He asks

"Who cares about them?, it's all about you and me baby" I say with a cheeky smile and he laughed

"OK then, see you on Tuesday, bye baby" he said before ending the call at the same time that my darling husband walked in

"You've been on your phone for hours, who were you talking to?" He asked

"None of your business" I answered. He sighed before seating on the bed right next to me

"Look, I'm sore for the way I talked to you earlier, I didn't mean to, please don't be mad at me anymore, I won't talk to you like that anymore, I swear just...."

"Save it, I don't need your apology" I interrupted him while raising a finger to silence him

"Are you still mad?" He asked but I ignored him and continued pretending like I was texting

"Look, I'll make it up to you on your birthday, I already have plans for us for on Tuesday, you'll love it I swear" he said again which I ignored while mentally laughing at him, if only he knew.......
