Type of territory: Gobi Desert (Southern Mongolia and Northern China)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Types of prey: Jerboas, Plate-tailed Geckos, Marbled Polecats and Gold Eagles, as well as scavenging dead Takhis (last living wild relatives of the domestic horse), Asiatic Ibexes, Khulans (wild ancestors of the domesticated donkey), Bactrian Camels, Musk Oxen and Goitered Gazelles. They can also chew on leaves to gain water.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Types of predators: Gobi Bears (extremely rare; only 50 left), Gray Wolves, Golden Eagles and Marbled Polecats.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Types of plants: Saxuals (almost leafless trees that grow to heights of between 6-12 feet), Batises (short shrubs that grow to to heights of between 10-70 cm), Bindweeds, Wild Garlic and Ephedras.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Beliefs: Polytheistic belief similar to Lamaist Buddhism
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Type of leadership (normal, dictator-like etc.): Very democratic, all cats debate and make decisions. No true leader, but they will always choose a cat to represent them as a leader-like figure to other groups of cats.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Clan/Tribe specialization(s): They have an unusual clan split, where half of the clan lives in the mountains and the other half lives in burrows underneath the sand in the desert. It also leads to having two unofficial leaders, as well as anywhere from 4-8 healers: Every few generations, between a quarter to half of each side of the clan goes to the other. Their survival is also helped by their Snow Leopard friends, who help them hunt and gather resources such as herbs for their clan, while also protecting them from the threats of other predators.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Specific fur colours/markings: Sandy/dust-coloured fur, golden fur, silver/gray fur and white fur are common. Darker colored furs such as dark brown and black are extremely rare. Almost always solid colors, tabby markings when they rarely appear are almost always pale.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What does their camp look like? (optional): The sand camp is located in a well-structured network of tunnels underneath the desert. Their camp is at the very end of the tunnels. After you pass a very confusing and elaborate maze of tunnels guarded on both ends by Snow Leopards, you arrive in a hollow cave with smooth stone carved from what seems to have been an ancient underground river. Near the back of the camp is a semi-large waterfall that drops into a pool of water, and next to it the only den. This is the healers den, and the hollow scoops around the side are used as storage for the few herbs that grow in this harsh landscape.

Meanwhile, the mountain camp is similar. After you are led into a massive cave opening, you are plunged into a massive maze of stone tunnels that are guarded on both ends by Snow Leopards. The camp is located at the end of said maze and roughly carved out by a similar ancient river. Upon entering you will see that, like the sand camp, the area is shared by both smaller cats and Snow Leopards.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Special ranks? (optional): Medicine Cats are called Healers, Warriors are split into four groups (Guards, Hunters, Gatherers and Scavengers), Apprentices are known as Observers and Queens are called Mothers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Specific symbols (religious or otherwise; optional): Snow Leopards are used as symbols of strength, valor and righteousness. Gobi Bears, however, are used as symbols of greed and evil.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
View on differences (injuries, who they love etc (optional): Very lenient, and they try their best to understand.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
View on outsiders (optional): Welcomed until they can prove their intentions. If they have bad intentions, they are chased out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Specific rules/code (optional): N/A
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Punishments for rule-breaking (optional): Cats who commit severe crimes such as murder are exiled, or killed if they refuse to leave. Lesser crimes can be punishable by tending to the elders and mothers, doing community service-type things such as helping to repair dens or helping sort herbs, holding back their warriorship/apprenticeship and spending a few moons in the nursery no matter the age, among other minor punishments.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Other: They usually have two word names like the clan Ancients, though they can have one word descriptive names like rogues and loners. Kits and Observers have no names, instead being called Kit One, Observer One etc. Once they pass a ritual test placing them in their first rank, which they can lose or gain as time goes on, they are then given a descriptive name. However, these names can be changed. If a cat wants to change their name, a meeting is held and, if enough cats agree with the name change, they could get a new name. In this world all species of cats can speak the same language with different dialects, though each species has its own language as well. The Snow Leopards protect the smaller cats from other predators, as well as helping them hunt and gather resources.
