A seventeen year-old opened fire, ultimately killing ten people. Supposedly he was the victim of bullying from both students and coaches. Descriptions of him widely vary, some say he was a normal kid who seemed happy while others said he was a "weird loner".  The shooter's original plan involved committing suicide after, but that did not end up happening. He opened fire in the school's art department, reportedly singing the song "Another One Bites the Dust" and once yelling "Surprise!" before he shot a student. The students did an amazing job, giving medical attention to the wounded during those twenty-five minutes of the shooting.

Sabika Sheikh, 17

She was an exchange student from Pakistan, staying with a host family at the time she was killed. She leaves behind her loving parents, three younger siblings, and caring host parents. She was an amazing student, fluent in English by the end of elementary school. When she grew up she wanted to be a diplomat, to prove that Pakistani and Muslims as a whole are not terrorists. She became great friends with a Catholic girl and they both were able to learn a lot about each other's cultures.

Christopher Stone, 17

He was a football player, described as adventurous and funny. He was also very soft and selfless. He had two older sisters. He was known for helping people out and was the reason so many kids survived.

Kimberly Vaughan, 14

Because of speech difficulties when she was younger, she learned ASL and grew passionate about creating a program to help others communicate in the same way. Some of her favorite things included cats, books, and goofy text messages. Since she wanted to dye her hair with red streaks, her mother encouraged others to color their own hair as a way to honor Kimberly.

Cynthia Tisdale, 63

Cynthia Tisdale was a kind woman. She worked two jobs to raise money for her husband, who had a terminal illness. Everyone she knew described her as a loving friendly person who genuinely cared about anyone she met. She was a wife and a mother of four kids. They all miss her and loved her fun, considerate self.

Glenda Ann Perkins, 64

A beloved substitute teacher at Santa Fe, Glenda Perkins is credited with saving student's lives. The mother and grandmother protected students by bringing them into her gym class. Many children specifically credit her with saving their lives by pushing them to safety moments before Ann Perkins herself was killed. "She didn't run away, she faced the devil and saved lives," a close friend of the teacher said.

Jared Conard Black, 17

The young man had just turned seventeen, in fact he was looking forward to his birthday party that would have been that weekend. He loved drawing cartoons and they were said to always be colorful and vibrant. Jared's interests also included wolves, anime, Legos, sci-fi, and wrestling.

Shana Fisher, 16

For four months the shooter had reportedly made advances on her and she kept on rejecting him. She had just recently turned sixteen. Her Mother says she was shy and sweet. She loved flowers, her dog, art, and cats.

Christian Riley Garcia, 15

He was a fun-loving kid, first to help, loved football, and enjoyed being outdoors. Christian was also a fan of country artist Toby Keith and his music. He lived with his parents and all of his friends loved him. The young man was the reason so many survived.

Aaron Kyle McLeod, 15

Aaron and his sister Danica were very close, often playing tennis together, and she texted him words of encouragement during the shooting. He loved movies and musicals.


Angelique Ramirez, 15

Angelique loved her brother dearly and was a very energetic young woman. She was very close with all her family. Everyone misses the free-spirited soul. She was often described as "so full of light.".
