Naruto was running as fast as his little legs would let him from the villagers, yet it was the day of his birth which meant their fox hunting had begun. This very fox hunting game of theirs was the bane of his life, the day that he truly had to fear for his very life.

The day he was born shared the same day that the nine tailed fox had attacked their village and killed many of village, these people still hold hate for the fox for that day. Their hate and anger of the fox will never die, it would only grow stronger every year that passed by.

So, where other kids his age would be playing with their families happily on their birthday, he was running for his life. He was outside the village trying to find somewhere to hide, somewhere he could be safe from their anger and hate. These fools could not tell that he was just the jail for the monster, that he was not the monster itself, yet their fears would soon cost them dearly.

When he found a hiding spot, he looked around to see no one was following him. He slowly started to hide behind large rocks that could barely fit someone of his size. He did know he had to wait till the old man found him, till then he would have to stay here for the whole day hiding away.

A few hours had passed by and could hear a voice calling out to him, he was not sure if he should leave his hiding spot or not. He slowly peeked out to see someone standing over there, someone he had never seen before.

She looked be an older woman with blue eyes and exceptionally long brown hair she had green face paint that was in shape of a claw mark across her whole face. She had hourglass shaped body, yet it was very built up from years of training. She also was wearing what looked to be light leather armor with a bow on her back, she simply looked over at him when she noticed him.

He had never seen anyone like her in the village before, she would stick out right away just by the way she was dressed. He had never seen anyone use a bow before, it looked like a very odd thing to have while walking around a village of shinobi.

"Why are you hiding over there? It is getting late and the things that live around here do not seem to be friendly towards little unguarded kids." She asked, wondering if the local animals might end up eating him.

Part of her just wanted to walk away, there was just something about this kid that made her want to know what was going on. Something about her, unknown to her that this meeting would change the fate of both in ways no one would have ever guessed.

"You are not here to hurt me like the others? How can I be so sure that you would hurt me like everyone else?" He asked her unsure to trust her.

"I do not know what you mean, I am not from around here. Let us just say I have journeyed, extremely far from where I live." She just moved to her knees to get eye level with him.

"So, that's why you aren't trying hurt me like everyone on my birthday." Naruto slowly moved out of his hiding spot.

"Why would everyone do that to you?" she simply asked.

"I do not know, no one will tell me why. Just that people hate what they fear or do not understand is only thing I have ever told." He simply stated back to her.

She could see how bad his clothes were and how bad his body was in terms of heartily looking, she could tell he was lacking much. She just let out small growl before grabbing him, she did not want deal with him trying get away from her, she looked down at him while he was in her arms, and she could tell he barely could try to get out of her hold.

"You barely are alive, who has been taking care of you if anyone as been?" she simply asked.

"No one, I live on my own because no one wanted me. Like I said everyone hates me for something I do not even understand, nor do I know why." He sadly admitted.

"Let's get you home and we will deal with the rest later." She did not give any idea as to what she meant by that.

"You won't like it there, I'm warning you." He did his best to warn her, but it had fallen on deaf ears.

He simply led her to a small place that had demon all over walls and die, among many other things that caused the woman to just glare at the writing. She could not believe how much this village could hate someone that was just a child, she looked at him confused by why this much hate was aimed at him.

"It looks like you were the one that found him, and May I ask just who you are?" Voice asked him, she looked to see the Hokage standing behind her.

"If you are asking for my name, it is Aela but why is this child treated this badly? Even back in my own homeland this would be overkill for no reason, so why is he barely alive and from what I can tell by his body he has barely been eating?" She harshly asked the old man.

"Let's get him inside and we will be back to talk to him a bit, so we can talk things over miss." He simply told her before waving the boy to go inside.

When Naruto left them, he slowly started taking Aela to the Hokage Tower to explain what was going on, he was no fool. He could sense just how strong she was, he did not want to have to risk lives simply due to hiding something that everyone in the village had known about but the one that was hated for it.

When he got inside, he ordered everyone to leave, even his own hidden Anbu that was there to guard him. He moved to sit down in his chair before looking back over at the woman, he could tell by her outfit she was not from the shinobi lands. It was one of the few guests he had met over the years, he often wondered what these outside lands could be like.

"Eight years ago, this village was attacked by a nine tailed fox known as Kyuubi, it killed many of our people. The currently leader at the time died by sealing it away inside a newborn, which was Naruto, the kid you just met. The village hates him for what the fox inside of him did, they refuse to see him as the jailer not the poisoner." The old man let out a small sign.

"So, this village is just filled with idiots? They make this boy suffer for their own stupidity. I mean, how can anyone be that blinded by their own lost and angry?" Aela could not even believe her own ears.

"Looks like I need to get him to eat better and to train him, even if I do train him? I will not always be around, yet I have a mission to do here." She stated.

"Why would I allow you be that close to him, also what kind of mission you are doing in my village or near it?" Hokage's voice turned much more serious.

"I have hunting down relics of my people, nothing that has to do with you or your people, things relics you wouldn't even know what they are." She simply explained.

"As for me taking care of him if I do not? Who will? It seems like you are lacking the power to even keep him safe on his own birthday." She just rolled her eyes before walking out of the room.

When she got close to the place she could smell fresh blood, that alone slowly caused her to worry about the kid. She rushed to see the door was broken into and she looked to see him laying down there on the ground. She could hear with her heightened hearing that he was barely breathing yet still alive.

She went over to him and knees next to him, she knew with this much bleeding he would not survive another night or even a few hours at best. She noticed him looking at her trying to smile yet failed due to the pain, his eyes slowly starting to close. She just signed before thinking if she really should do it or not.

Soon she found herself changing into her other form after she made her mind up, her other form being wolf-like, fur covering all her body, yet this wolf form stood on two legs not four. It had a massive body that was insanely built, it looked like what people would call a werewolf, yet it was far stronger than what the stories had told about them.

She moved to bite him on the neck, it was the only way she could save him from this ill fate that was placed on him. When she was finished, she just turned back into her other form while waiting to see if he would survive or not. She just noticed his wounds rapidly healing before she took him away with her, this place was his past and he had to move on from it.

A few hours later she had him in bed inside a hotel with her, she had gotten him clean clothes so that he would not freak out due to the blood that used to be on him. Even if it was hard to change him while he was passed out, she just kept her eyes on him.

When he started to wake up, he looked over at her still surprised that he was still alive. He had thought this time would have been the day they killed him, yet he never would have thought he could be seeing another day. His little eyes still looking over at him, unsure of why she was in the room with him nor where he even was.

"Where am I and how am I even still alive?" He simply asked her.

"You are alive because of me, yet I had done something to save your life. As for where you are, you are in a hotel room with me. You may never live what you could call a normal life anymore, you are stronger than ever before." She started to explain.

"I am what you may call a werewolf, I have two forms which one is the one you are looking at right now and the other is a wolf like form. Being a werewolf gives many benefits like never dying of age and healing wounds easier than before. One could heal from a near death wound, it is one of the biggest benefits of the blood." She stated to him.

"So, if I'm this werewolf am I even human anymore?" The young boy asked her.

"No, you are not human anymore because you are something better than being human. It was only way to save your life, due to these new powers no one will ever be able to do that to you again in the future." She pointed out.

"I see, I'm thankful for you saving me but it will just take time to get used to being something that isn't human." The young simply stated.

"No rush it, it takes everyone awhile to get used to it at first. Even took me awhile to finally accept what I have become to survive. You just need to learn that this is for the better, that you will not ever be weak again and I am going to be training you into the ground soon." She warned him.

The next day Naruto was on the roof of the hotel just staring out, he had much on his mind, yet the words escaped him. He was thankful to be alive, he was also thankful to no longer be weak. There was just something that bothered him, with any kind of strength and power gain there always must be a cost, what was the cost of this werewolf blood.

He is what you would call young, yet he was wiser for his age, he did know there had to be something she was telling me. He looked down to see her waving up to him, he slowly made his way down to her. His eyes studying this woman, this woman that had done much for him, yet she did not even know who he was or anything about his life.

"I want to know, what is the true cost of being this werewolf? Everything comes at a cost no matter what it may be. Nothing in life is free, nothing is free when it comes to gaining power like you had told me." He honestly asked her, not holding anything back.

"The cost is that there is a beast in you now, this beast has it own desires and it will come out during full moons. You will need to learn to control that inner beast, or it will devour you and you will become mindless killer but that why I am here. I am here to make sure you can control the beast and live better life." She admitted to him.

"Why do you care so much about helping me? You have never met me before, yet you have done so much to help me? Why, are you trying so hard for me?" He countered.

"It is true that I do not know you, yet no one your age should ever have to live a life with such hate and anger aimed at you. No one should hide on their birthday, no one should have to worry about being killed in their own village like this. You are young, you should be smiling and enjoying life not hiding away in fear." She stopped before she rubbed his head softly.

"No one should ever have to live with the burden you have been living in, no one should ever have to live such a life. Still, you are here wanting to live is something that most people my age wouldn't even have the strength to do. Most adults would have just given up and ended their own lives if they had to live through what you have been living with. You have an iron will to survive, which is something exceedingly rare to see in adults let alone someone as young as you." She finished with a sad smile showing.

"The first thing we are going to do is build a place to live outside the village, the forest that I found you in. This way no one can get to you till you are fully trained, also then I can train you to manage the beast within." She told him, walking ahead of him.

At first, he was unsure if he wanted to follow her, he did know she saved him while also being the one that forced him down this new path. This new path of becoming this wolf like being, could he truly trust her?

Slowly he found his feet walking forward to follow her, as if they were moving on their own free will. He did know it would take time for him to truly trust this woman, he looked around the village, the stares of hate and rage. These looks were not the same ones the woman gave him, this woman did not look at him in such way.

Just maybe he could trust this Aela woman, he looked back at her which he wondered what her story was. He still never asked her anything about who she was nor why she was even in the shinobi lands in the first place.

When they got to the forest, that was when Aela started to build their small house, it would take them a week or so to get it made. He did his best to help, even though he was surprised by how strong she was. He even watched her wolf form come out to cut down trees faster, the small one-bedroom house was made of wood, yet it would keep them safe from the weather.

She did not see the point in making a second bedroom due to always moving around, so it was mostly just for her when she was not with him. The times she was with him, he just had to learn to share the bed with her if he liked it or not.

"Now that this is finally finished, it is time to work on your training and hunting skills. I will not let you die, but I will not make this easy on you. By the time I am done with you, you will learn how to survive in this world." She warned him.

"How are you going to do that, because I need to become the next Hokage, this way then they will have to see me for who I am. That they will stop hating me, that I can show them just how great of shinobi I really am, you just watch me, Aela!" He cheerfully spoke over at her, even if she just rolled her eyes.

She did not understand his goal of becoming the Hokage of this village, this village to her was passed saving. She looked down at his blue eyes, she was simply happy that there was some light coming back to his eyes. This light was hope that he could survive this hell of a life he was given, only time would truly tell.
