Species: Human, later ghoul.
Occupation: Doctor, infection specialist.

Quote: "My grandmother once told me that one day I would have to make a decision that would either save me, or condemn me, I didn't understand what that meant until this sickness corrupted my heart and body."

Personality: Yukiara is very protective of her friends and loved ones, and will do anything to keep them happy. She prefers to stay alone on her time off, reading her books or studying a certain medical issue that interests her. Though despite her efforts to make others happy, she often feels sad and lonely herself, but she keeps her emotions inside so she doesn't worry those she's close with.

Family: Nengiko Masomoro (mother, alive), Hansi Masomoro (father, alive).

Love interest: Kaneki Ken

Backstory: She was a hard worker her entire life. She worked day and night to graduate high school early, and she succeeded, graduating high school when she was sixteen. She then went to medical school, where she studied infections and wounds. She graduated when she was twenty two, and got a job at a hospital in her town just down the street from her home. She met Kaneki when he came into the hospital with a broken arm, she treated him, and they soon became friends. Years passed and everything was going great and she was having a great life, until one day something terrible happened. She was diagnosed with stage four Leukemia, and a few months passed before she felt herself dying. One night, she had a horrible nightmare and felt the worst pain she had ever felt in her body, what she didn't understand was that it wasn't a nightmare at all. A ghoul attacked her in her sleep, but it was killed before it could eat her, however, it's essence moved into her body and mind, living on through her like a parasite. Though her leukemia was gone because of this, she would have to live with herself, now fused with a ghoul.

Trivia:

• Her best friends are Kaneki Ken and Hide.

• People call her the 'Black Widow' because of the black, spider-like tendrils that grow out of her back whenever she attacks.

• Her ghoul persona can take over at random times, her ghoul half only answers to the name 'Yura'. Yura has no restraint and will kill anyone to keep her hunger under control.

• When Yura attacks a human, she never kills them, she only takes off an arm or leg, because Yukiara won't let her actually kill anyone.
