"You're the new seeker!?" Bryce exclaimed as she and Nesta were walking to class together. Nesta had no idea what a seeker was, but Rowan told her that it was an important part of a Quidditch game. Whatever that was.

"First years never make the Quidditch team." Tomas said from her right. "You must be the youngest seeker in-"

"The century? Viviane keeps saying that." Nesta replied as the young Slytherins noticed Lorcan and Aelin coming up to them. "Congrats Nes! Rowan just told us." Aelin said as Lorcan nodded. "We're the Beaters."

"Beaters?" Nesta asked as Lorcan continued. "Our job is to make sure you don't get bloodied up too bad."

"Can't make any promises though. Brutal game. But no ones died yet." Aelin added as the second years went into a different direction.

Nesta gulped. "Brutal? That badly?" she said as Bryce placed a hand on her shoulder. "Don't be nervous. Quidditch is a great game."

"But I never played Quidditch. I'll make a fool of myself."

"Of course you won't." A 3 Slytherins turned to see Emerie. They didn't even notice she was behind them. "It's in you blood." Emerie added as Tomas, Bryce, and Nesta looked at her with confusion.

Emerie chuckled and said, "Follow me." The young Ravenclaw spread her wings and flew into the school (they were outside). The Slytherins followed her until they made it to a trophy vault. "Look there." Emerie pointed towards the Slytherin section and Nesta gasped in surprise.

It was her mother's name. Lily Archeron. Her name was encarve on a medal that said, 'Seeker' on top and the year 1984 on the bottom. Nesta smiled. "Mom." she said as Tomas looked at her with excitement. "You never told us your mother was a seeker."

"I...never knew."

Classes were now over and the students were on their way back to each others common rooms. The only ones left were Nesta, Gwyn, and Emerie. The girls were mounting the stairway as they offered to walk Emerie back to her house. "I still can't believe you're a seeker Nesta." Gwyn said as Nesta blushed. "Me neither. It's like everyone-WAH!!!"

"WOAH!" The girls screamed as they began to move. it wasn't them though. It was the stair case. "What's happening?" Gwyn said as she and the others gripped onto the stair rail. "The stairs change remember?" Emerie said as the stairs stopped moving. The girls looked to see a brown door. "Let's go this way."

"Before the stairs move again." Gwyn mumbled under her breath.

The girls stumbled into a dark room. There wasn't anything in there. It was just dark. "Does anyone feel like were not suppose to be here?" Nesta asked as Emerie nodded. "Of course not. This is the third floor." As she said that, a torch from the girls' left, lit up aflame. "We should leave."

A cat screech was heard behind them. The girls immediately turned around to see a cat. But not just any cat. It was Beron's cat. "We're screwed!"

"This way!" Nesta called out as the girls followed Nesta through the dark. What made the floor strange was that it kept lighting the way for the girls to see where they were going. They witches had no time to question them. The cat will alert Beron at once. The 3 girls stopped at a locked door. "Now what?"

"I got this." Emerie said as she waved her wand to lock. "Alohomora." she said as the lock clicked. The door open. "Quick, in here." Emerie said as she and the girls rushed inside.

Nesta looked through a peephole in the door. Beron walked inside, his lantern glowing in the dark room. He glared around the room but he didn't see anything. He walked back out, with his cat along with him. "He's gone." she said as Gwyn sighed in relief. "Why was the door locked?"

"Maybe because of that." Emerie was looking ahead of the girls. When Nesta and Gwyn looked at Emerie's directions, they had to cover their mouths to prevent from screaming. Upon them was a 3 headed dog that was as bug as a bus. But to make matters worse, the dog was awake. And it was not happy.

Unable to keep quiet, the witches screamed and ran out of the room, locking the door back before running out of the third floor. Once the girls were safe, they continued their journey to the Ravenclaw house. "What were they thinking? Keeping an animal caged up like that?!" Gwyn said, her shock rising a bit. Nesta shook her body a bit. "I'm not sure. But that's horrible."

"Maybe they're not caging a dog." Emerie said with her arms folded. Nesta and Gwyn looked at her with confusion. "What do you mean?"

"If I remember correctly, the dog was guarding something?"

"Guarding something?" Gwyn asked as Emerie nodded. Nesta's eyes widen in realization. "Now that you think about it, I did see a trapped door under its paw."

"Exactly. So the dog wasn't there by accident." Emerie concluded as they finally arrived at the Ravenclaw house. The house was more like a tower because there was a bridge leading the Ravenclaws to the house. "We can talk about this tomorrow. The last thing we want is to get expelled." Emerie said before she shot herself in the air and flew into the common room.

When she left, Nesta and Gwyn looked at each other. "We should go too. Beron might find us here."

"Agreed." Gwyn replied as both girls raced to each of their common rooms.
