I don't think architects should follow the latest trends. The first reason is personal preference. Each person has their view of beauty, so it is impossible to impose what they do not like into their own house. For example, we can't force people who don't like plants to grow plants at home. Therefore, architects should depend on the preferences of homeowners to design a house that is satisfactory to the owner. Second, the designs should be suitable for the weather or natural conditions in the place where the house will be located. Because it is used for many years, it should be safe for users. For example, in Japan, there are many earthquakes every year. So, houses that are not built according to earthquake-resistant structures are not safe for occupants. Last but not least, the designs should be energy-efficient. It can help us to protect the environment and save money. For example, when we use solar energy instead of using electrical energy. We can save some money not having to pay the electric bill. it's also more environmentally friendly when we use solar energy too. So architects should pay attention to these points more than the latest trends for the homeowner.
