Think about the animals in Activity D on page 26. Do these animalsuse color for camouflage or as a warning? Explain. Most large predators, likelions, are not brightly colored. Why do you think this is true? What are someways people use color as camouflage or as a sign of danger?

- The animals like false leaf katydid and cryptic frogs use color for camouflage. Their color closely resembles their surroundings. make them easier to hide and less dangerous. But the poison dart frog is different, it uses color as a sign of danger. Because its skin has poison, it can kill predators with a single drop of its poison. it uses color to warn predators to stay away.
