"FROM THE DETROIT RED WINGS, DYLAN LARKIN" the Nashville announcer spoke into the mic

You stood on your feet cheering at ice level, for your boyfriend. You were so proud he made it to the NHL All-Star weekend in his rookie season. From the start of the season till now he's worked his ass off. Now he finally gets some fun time.

As the announcer read out all the other player's names. You stood there clapping and cheering for them. You just wanted the skills competition to start. It was your favourite part out of the whole weekend and the fastest skater event was up first, which was one of Dylan's competitions. You were so excited.

As the announcer finished up, they then announced that the fastest skater competition will start shortly. You watched as they set up everything. As you were waiting you looked down at your phone to check some social media.

You had heard someone banging on the glass, so you looked up to see Dylan standing there with a smile on his face.

"They told me I'm going first" he said through the glass

"Oh, well good luck and have fun" you said a little surprised

He smiled and blew you a kiss. You blew one back as he skated towards his team.

They were finally done setting up and the players took they're positions. It was Dylan vs.  Roman Josi, from the Nashville Predators.

The guys just had to do one lap around half the ice and after everyone is finished, who ever got the fastest time gets a chance at doing one lap around the whole rink and try to beat Mike Gartner's record from 1996. Which you wanted Dylan to do because you knew how fast of a skater he was.

You sat at the edge of your seat as you heard the buzzer, telling the boys to go. You started cheering as Dylan went around the first corner, and even louder as he turn the second one. The timers stopped as the boys passed the line. You cheered as you saw Dylan's time, 12.894. You cheered loudly for your boyfriend knowing he would be the fastest one here.

After everyone went, they announced that Dylan would be doing the full lap. You got really nervous and excited all at the same time.

Dylan took his place and waited for the buzzer. As it went off and Dylan skated down the ice. You cheered loud as he zipped passed you. You watched him as he turned the corner and almost tripped on his own feet. But he managed to stay up and keep going. As he passed the finish line you looked up at the Jumbotron seeing Gartner's time, 13.386. And then you saw Dylan's time, 13.172. You jumped up screaming for Dylan as he skated by his team and fist pumped them. You couldn't believe what had just happened, your boyfriend just beat the fastest skater time by 0.214 seconds.

You quickly leaned over the bar that was separating the seats from the players entrance to the ice. You saw Dylan and he skated off the ice and towards you. You both smiled at each other.

"You did it, I'm so proud of you" you told him as you leaned down

"Thanks, Babe" he said

You then leaned down towards him and gave him a quick kiss. After that he went back to the bench to join his teammates.
