A/n: Hi! I'm taking part in the Fluffcember challenge by SageNinjaMorro! Today's prompt is "Would you like to put the star on top?" "I've already got my star, it's you."

"Pass me the lights!" "Where's the cake?" "For the last time, Cole, there's no cake!" "Can anyone pass me the deli-meat?" "Why do you want to decorate the monastery with baloney?" "Where's the star?"

It was Christmas time in Ninjago, and with no threat around to stop the celebrations, the Ninja were busy decorating the Monastery of Spinjitzu to spread some holiday cheer, all the while trying to convince Master Wu to get in on the fun and replace his suit with Christmas sweaters like themselves.

"Alright guys, we're almost done. Nya, Jay, finish decorating the tree. Kai, don't burn the gingerbread house! I don't care about your fear, but Zane will kill me and you if he finds his Christmas masterpiece destroyed! Cole, please don't bother Zane in the kitchen. Why don't you go and decorate everyone's quarters? And Master Wu, why don't you come in here and join us in decorating?" Lloyd said, obviously enjoying himself.

Soon, all the Ninja except for Kai, Jay and Nya were gone to their quarters, having finished their tasks.

Nya and Jay, it seemed, were lost in their own world, decorating the tree all the while joking around, giggling and laughing, and making horrible Christmas related pickup lines.

Secretly, Kai didn't mind those two, and was even a tad bit jealous of those two. He didn't admit any of that, of course, especially not the fact that he secretly shipped the two.

Though today, Kai's mind was somewhere else, thinking about how a certain red headed noodle shop owner who also happened to be his girlfriend would love to spend the holidays here. He made a mental note to call her later and ask how she was, and if she would like to come over for Christmas.

Jay and Nya, however, weren't paying attention to Kai's sudden quiet after lots and lots of screaming about fears of gingerbread and elves. The both were engrossed in trying to get the Christmas star on top of the tree, when suddenly, Nya had an idea. Smiling, she dropped the star, when Jay caught it and said, "Careful, Nya. Would you like to put the star on top?"

"I've already got my star, it's you." She said, smirking as she wrapped her arms around him and pulled him in, closing the gap between their lips.

"Ahem."

After a few minutes, the two were interrupted by a smiling Kai, who simply took the star and put it on top, being taller than them, and said, "Look, I'm not minding this time because it's Christmas, but please take this to your room and not in front of me."

Embarrassed, and somewhat relieved that Kai wasn't all overprotective of Nya, the two headed to their room and closed the door, leaving Kai at the Christmas tree.

Kai smiled as he heard the doorbell, and headed towards the main gates to meet his girlfriend. But that wasn't the only thing he was smiling at. He was also smiling that Jay loved Nya and how he openly showed it. After a long time as a Ninja, he noticed how everyone let people know that they were trusted by them differently.

For Cole, if he shared his cake, he trusted you with his life. If Zane let you into the kitchen, he let you into his heart. For Jay, if he trusted you, he would become like a 'puppy dog', as Nya once said. Kind, caring, and loyal to the end.

And it was those qualities that made him accept Jay.

Kai was happy that his sister had found Jay.
