I feel like Jay was the kind of kid that was into fandoms (and still is but to a lesser degree because of ninja-ing) he would draw fanart and upload it on Ninjago's version of Deviant Art and probably wrote fanfics on Ninjago's version of wattpad too (and then later ended up migrating to AO3 as he got older)

I imagine he got Nya into it as well shortly after meeting her and is also the one who explains fandom terms to her.

Also he gives me the vibes of a person that would ship the canon pairings but I can also see him shipping the most obscure pairings out there. Like he's the kind of person to ship the main hero of the story with a random villager that the hero rescues once.

I can also see him having a tumblr blog for his fandoms and let me just tell you.. its a pop culture melting pot. One day he'll post about My little pony and the next he'll post about the GTA games. Its complete chaos and Jay rules it. His followers never know what to expect and it has an even bigger following ever since he became a ninja. The people that were there from the beginning even consider themsleves superior to the other followers.

For some reason I also see him being in the furry fandom- like I don't think he'd be a hardcore one but would definitely be quite interested in the furry culture. All I'm saying is that he's owned a cat ears headband atleast once in his life.

Anyway that's my chaotic headcanon of Jay being a fandom kid, hopefully this made sense cause I'm kinda sleep deprived rn-
