This one took a bit longer to finish, but I decided to change it up a little bit. Although it's quite short, I couldn't figure out the plot for the life of me.

MasterofCupcakes wanted to see this oneshot when I proposed it, so consider this a goodbye gift for her 💕

Also the name Raya... I love it. Cause it's like Jaya. Y'know, Ray/Jay, Nya/Maya. Just..... It's so good? How?

Onto the story!

Third POV

Ray traced the small hill their home was built on, roaming around the grassy terrain mindlessly. With him was a young boy, who still stumbled over his own feet, clinging onto his father's arm for dear life.

His father only burst into a fit of chuckles as he picked him up, squeezing him in his grip.

"And I thought you'd already be beating bad guys by now," he ruffled his spiky hair. "Take your time, son."

He fixed the collar of his shirt, only receiving a shy nod in response.

He stopped at the front door of their house (and shop, for that matter), opening the creaky, wooden door.

"Let's show mom your new trick, shall we?" he told him, booping his nose.

He nodded again, leading him inside on his own.

It only took a few steps until they arrived at the small living room, where a woman was sitting on the couch rather silently. She rubbed her chin with one hand, grasping a newspaper with the other.

The young boy climbed onto her lap, patting her cheeks rather aggressively. She only responded with a warm smile, adjusting him in her firm grip.

When she looked up, however, she was met with a worried face.

"Waterlily? Are you okay?"

Without another word, she handed him the newspaper, burying her face into her son's hair.

"... Oh," he cleared his throat as he read the headline. "They stopped now? It's been like, what, almost a year and a half?"

"They started a few months after Kai was born," she said, her voice trembling a little. "Why did they stop so soon, Ray? Weren't they able to find anything?"

He sighed. "Maybe she had a reason to run away."

"Well, she didn't tell us! Why would anyone take their newborn and just... disappear like that?" she cried. "I didn't remember her telling me anything about a divorce or abuse... I knew she shouldn't trust that guy!"

He sat next to her, wrapping his arm around her shoulder. "Let's not make accusations like these, Maya. Cliff is a nice guy from what I've been told."

"Well, duh! He's a huge celebrity, of course you're gonna hear nice things about him!" she ranted, yanking his arm away. "He's always like 'oh, let me be your knight in shining armour and save you from poverty and make you a model and then let you run away with my son like you're nothing to me'!"

"He was the one leading the investigation for months, Maya. You can't deny that he played his part too."

"I guess..." she wiped her tears away, only leaving her dried cheeks behind. "What will happen to Jason?"

"He's with her, they should be fine."

"He's the same age as Kai, huh?" she looked down at the whining boy engulfed in her arms. "Maybe a bit younger."

"I'm sure they'd be close friends," he said, his tone turning into a happier one. "Remember that night?"

"Which one? We've had plenty."

His face paled before a light blush started to dust over his cheeks. "Not... that kind of night. The one with the team."

"Oh, right. We really wanted to keep the legacy going, huh?"

"Hey, we were teenagers at the time. Imagine my face when you and Libby talked about your kids getting married in the future."

Her lips curved into a smirk. "I can imagine your face just thinking about kids at that time."

"Hey, at least we've got one now," he said, picking up his son and throwing him in the air. He burst into a fit of laughter as he rubbed his nose against his.

"About that..."

He turned to her, his eyebrows coming closer. "You want to have another one?"

Her face flushed as she awkwardly rubbed her cheek. "How did you know?"

"Well, you've been acting weirdly ever since Libby disappeared," he said. "I've seen the magazines under the bed, by the way."

"You have?"

He placed Kai on the couch, taking his hands in hers. "Honey, you don't need a stupid magazine to tell you how to be a parent. These are not normal kids, you know that."

She looked at the ground. "I do know. It's just..." her voice trembled a little as she bit her tongue.

He scooted next to her, sinking into the couch and resting his head on her shoulder. "Take your time."

She nodded, clearing her throat. "It's just that... If Libby is gone, what will happen if we are gone? Kai will be all alone."

"We have like a million relatives, sweetie."

"To whom we don't talk even talk to. They think of us as freaks, Ray. They can't possibly raise someone like Kai."

"Fiyah!"

They both turned around, only to see their son flailing his arms around, sticking out his tongue.

"Oh, yeah. That's what I wanted to show you," Ray said, rubbing the back of his neck. "He told me that yesterday while you were on a mission."

Her delighted face soon fell, instead being replaced with a frown and teary eyes. "I missed his first word?"

"It's alright, you couldn't have predicted that..."

"What will we do, Ray?" she raised the tone of her voice, "I keep missing everything in his life and you are too. We can't keep going like this!"

"Breathe," he told her.

"Right, sorry..." she coughed. "I'm just saying that we need some time. It's going to be hard for him to start making friends here. We've lost touch with almost all of the team, so that leaves us with the kids in Ignacia. How do you think parents will react when Kai starts shooting flames out of his hands?"

"So, a sibling would be good, relatable company to him, is what you're saying."

She nodded.

"I... wouldn't mind that."

"You wouldn't?"

"I mean... If we do need to go away for a while, at least he won't be alone," he said. "And I've always wanted to have a daughter."

"How do you know it's going to be a girl?"

"Well, I don't, but hey, you completely lost that last bet. Maybe this time they will be a girl with water powers."

"That would be nice," she wiped her eyes.

"Maybe she'll even get your attitude."

She punched his arm playfully, giggling. "They may be a he, who knows?"

"Whatever they are, we'll always be there for them, okay?" he said softly, pecking her cheek.

"Promise?"

"Promise."

Am I implying that Jay disappearing with Libby was a huge factor to Nya's birth? Yes.

Am I saying this is possible? Absolutely not.

Do I love the idea of it? Y E S

Hope you liked it!

C ya!
