Today was the contest of who will be Kai's girlfriend to sing with him at the masquerade dance. Many girls are auditioning by choosing a song of theirs to impress Kai and Clouse. Thanks to Jay of fixing the lights, they decided to have it in the auditorium. Nya is doing the makeup and the clothes for the girls who are auditioning while Zane's calling whoever's girl's name he called to go up on the stage. Today is a very busy day and the news reporters were at Stixx dealing with some dramatic crimes which is pretty good to Kai.

Skylor was washing dishes as she watched the contest on TV. "Skylor, after done doing the dishes, you can go to whatever you want to go for your day off today" Chen said and Skylor put down a plate in a dishwasher. "Thanks, Dad" Skylor said and Jay walked in the cafe.

"Hey, Mrs. Chen, is Skylor here today?" Jay said to Scarlett. "Yeah, she's here. She's in the kitchen doing dishes before she goes somewhere on her day off" Scarlett explained and Jay smiled. "Thank God, it's her day off. I'm just going to take Skylor somewhere that's why" Jay repiled back. "On a date?" Scarlett questioned the brunette and Jay laughed. "No, I'm just taking her to one of her favorite places of Ninjago" Jay reassured Scarlett from screaming since she ships him with Skylor.

"Scar, don't you ever scream whenever Jay told you that he's taking our daughter somewhere" Chen said walking out of the kitchen. Chen on the other hand ships Skylor with the popstar she hates.

Scarlett nodded and Skylor put all the dishes she washed in the dishwasher. "All Done!" Skylor yelled as she walked out of the kitchen taking off her apron. She was wearing a orange long sleeve top with skinny jeans. "Good, plus it's 10, so let's leave right now to be the first one on one of your favorite places" Jay said and Skylor nodded. "Mom, Dad, I'll be back at 4 or 5" Skylor said as she hugged her parents. "Be safe and make sure he won't hurt you" Chen said and Scarlett mouthed 'Make sure he kisses you' to her.

Skylor rolled her eyes and she and Jay walked out of the cafe and Jay went in the driver's side of his blue truck. "Come in, I want to see Nya before I go and fix some repairs" Jay said and Skylor hopped in the passenger side of the truck.

Thanks to Jay leaving the cafe, there's no traffic in Ninjago City. Skylor saw many views of different buildings and smiled.

Jay parked his truck in front of Smith Studios and he and Skylor got off and walked on the entrance of the building. There was no girls around lining up since it's 10 and the contest is at 12. Skylor and Jay walked in the auditorium where Nya was at the stage and she jumped off when they come in. "I'm so glad you're here, Sky, now c'mon, I had to get you ready" Nya exclaimed as she hugged her best friend. "Nya, I'm not sure if I can do this, it's a stupid idea to do it" Skylor said. "Sky, you can do it. Trust me, I believe in you especially Nya who's going to dress you in disguise" Jay said and Skylor smiled.

"So what's my name going to be once Zane calls it?" Skylor asked Nya as she walked in a dressing room. "Hmm, you're fierce, shows some style, able to stay up for herself, so I'm going to say your name is the Phoenix" Nya said as she looked through many clothes of the rack. "Wow, love the name, so what song am I going to sing?" Skylor said and Nya laughed. "Jay told me that on the same day you and I get to be best friends,he told me that you were singing a song that will blow my brother up with amazement earlier and I realized that song is very beautiful and seems to fit your tone of voice" Nya explained and Skylor groaned. "I'm so going to kill Jay once I done with this contest" Skylor mumbled so loud that Nya even hear it. Nya laughed and she saw the perfect outfit for Skylor. "Sky, you have to try this on" Nya said as she put it in Skylor's dressing room and walked out. "Okay, I will" Skylor said and she try on the outfit Nya wants her to wear.

It was 12 and Kai and Clouse were sitting at a table in front of the stage of the auditorium.

"Gee, thanks, Stacie, we'll think about it" Kai said to a girl who sang 'All of Me' off key. "Nope, we won't think about it because we made up our minds, we hate you!" Clouse yelled making the girl run off the stage crying. "Clouse! My dad only hired you as my new manager to find a perfect girl to be my girlfriend to sing with at the masquerade dance. So if I were you, be more kind to the contestants!" Kai hissed and Clouse rolled his eyes and looked at the clipboard.

"Mackenzie Dunlop, you're up!" Clouse yelled out and a blonde girl went up on stage. The blonde girl sang 'Just like Fire' very perfect that impressed Clouse but not Kai. "Mackenzie, I'll think about it so I guess it's a no since I'm not impressed" Kai said and Mackenzie stormed off the stage.

"Kai! Mackenzie sang perfectly and she's beautiful of course for you" Clouse said. "Clouse, I don't like how she doesn't show potential or even looked like she doesn't even like me" Kai hissed and Clouse mumbled 'whatever' to himself.

"The Phoenix! You're up!" Clouse yelled and Skylor smiled. Nya was curling her red hair when she was dressed. "Sky, you're up. Make my brother stunned with your voice" Nya whispered and Skylor hugged her. "I will, wish me luck" Skylor said as she walked up on the stage.

Skylor walked so awkward that she almost fall to her face. She sighed and walked up to the microphone. Kai was shocked of what she's wearing. A bright orange strap dress with silver silk that was very shiny. "She's beautiful" Kai said and Clouse rolled his eyes at the popstar's comment.

Lights were dimmed and Skylor closed her eyes.

Kai start clapping and Skylor bowed with a smile. "You sang beautiful, you're even beautiful and most of all your performance is amazane" Kai said as he got on the stage. Skylor blushed and Zane walked on the stage. "Ma'am, I think Kai have found the girl he likes in order for the duet and it's you" Zane exclaimed and everyone started to mumbled about Skylor.

Skylor blushed and Kai hold her hands. "Will you be my girlfriend?" Kai asked Skylor. Skylor saw Mackenzie glaring at her and she was shocked. She was her childhood rival and also the main reason she got stage fright. "I gotta go, Kai, sorry" Skylor said and she walked away from him to backstage. "Wait! I want to know your name!" Kai yelled and Clouse got up clapping slowly at Kai.

"Bravo, Kai. The girl you like walked away from you" Clouse said and Kai sighed. "She was the girl I like. There's something I like about her and I guess it's her voice that makes me fall for her" Kai said with a smile and Clouse coughed. "Kai, this girl doesn't like you. Why? Because she didn't answer your question. I mean, many girls walked away from a popstar from answering his questions" Clouse said. "I have find this girl's identify, Clouse, she's the most beautiful singer ever" Kai said and he walked out of the stage.

Clouse went up to Mackenzie and smiled. "Good job on recording this girl singing, now it's time to compare it with the video I record two days ago" Clouse said and Mackenzie laughed evilly.

Sunny, here, Part 2 will be next but will Kai find out the identify of the Phoenix? Or Will Clouse have the chance to find out the Phoenix before him with the videos he have recorded?
