"The world moves on. Another day, another drama, drama. But not for me, not for me, all I think about is karma. And then the world moves on, but one thing's for sure. Maybe I got mine, but you'll all get yours." - Look What You Made Me Do, Taylor Swift

"Don't blame me for what you made me do," I said to my parents. Our carriage had already arrived and we should have been leaving. But that meant never seeing Ebony again, and I couldn't do that. I loved Ebony and I wouldn't let anything get in the way from that, not even my own parents.

"The old Arora would never use that tone to her parents," my mother snapped.

I sighed. We were already arguing for thirteen minutes and I was getting very angry. "The old Arora can't come with you right now," I said.

"Why?" my father asked.

"Because she's dead!" I shouted. "I'm not the same person that arrived here, I have changed. I'm no longer the perfect golden princess you raised, I found another version of myself."

"I don't like this, Arora," my father said.

"I don't like your little games, your titled stage and the role you made me play. I was a fool. No, I don't like you," I said, now getting really angry.

"Arora, we care for you and your feelings. Stop this drama and come home with us," my mother said.

I just laughed. "You can't be serious," I said. "I don't like your perfect crime, how you laugh when you lie. That isn't cool. No, I don't like you."

"This only proves that you shouldn't be with that Keeling girl, she has changed you," my father claimed.

"Ebony has nothing to do with this. This is me. I got smarter, I got harder in the nick of time. I rose up from the dead, I do it all the time."

"You're not going to leave us for that Keeling girl, are you?" my father asked.

"I love her, father. She is the only one I ever loved. Of course I would rather go with her instead of you."

My mother stepped forward and laid her hand on my arm. "I thought we had been clear about what would happen if you still decided to stay with the Keeling princess," she said.

I nodded. I remembered. "Take my crown away, if that's what you want. Strip me from my titles, give the city to Feyla, I don't care," I said.

Feyla looked up in shock. She had been standing there, silently the whole conversation. "Are you giving up the city, Arora?" she asked. I saw the realization in her eyes, she would become queen if I passed the title.

"If that's what needed to be with Ebony, I will," I told her. Feyla was only two years younger than me and we basically grew up together. I knew she would be a good queen.

I saw my father looking between my sister and I. "We have been clear, Arora. We hereby disown you. You're stripped of all your titles and assets in the city. We wish you the best of luck on your own," he said.

"Arora, no," Feyla whispered.

I only nodded, still angry. "Look what you made me do!" I shouted. "I'm not your golden princess anymore, I changed. And I don't want to go with you if that means I won't be with Ebony ever again."

"You won't go with us. You're not welcome in the Golden City again, I hope you will find a new place to live," my father said in a tone colder than I had ever heard from him.

I wanted to say something, but my attention was directed to the doors of the palace to my left. They had opened and a figure came running towards us.

"Arora," Ebony said while she literally threw herself in front of me.

"Ebony," I responded.

"Arora I'm so sorry I left you this morning. I was out of my mind, I really want to make it right," she said, her eyes wide and voice raspy. "Would you please - please - come with me?" She looked like she had cried, like she could start to cry again any second.

"Come with you? To where?"

"I have no idea, anywhere I can talk with you," she said. "I need to talk with you."

My gaze went to my parents - who still looked at me with anger in my eyes - to Feyla - who also looked like she could cry - and back to Ebony. "I will come with you," I said.

"Arora, what are you doing?" my parents tried, but I wasn't listening anymore. I already disappointed them, they already disowned me. There was nothing to be done, nothing that could get that sad, confused look off Feyla's face. So I grabbed Ebony's hand and we walked away.

I let Ebony lead me, I had no idea where to go and she looked like she had a mission. I really hoped she would suggest running away with me, so we could love each other in peace. I hoped she would say she loved me and would give up everything to be with me, because that's how I felt about her.

We entered the chapel in the gardens and Ebony closed the doors behind me. It was a beautiful building, full of serenity and peace. "I don't really know where to start," Ebony said. She looked like she was a little bit lost in what to say, what to do.

"Start at the beginning," I suggested to her.

So she told me her story. She told me that she loved me, only me. That was all I wanted to hear, so I said what might be the most poetic and romantic thing I ever thought of. "I love you, Ebony Keeling. I fucking love you. I want your midnights, your early mornings, late nights, cozy afternoons. I want you, your love, your mind, your body. I want you, with all your thorns and flowers."

"I also love you, Arora Aurum. I love your eyes as blue and the sky on the perfect summer day. You're golden like the sun, but you're worth more than all the gold in the world. I would spend the rest of eternity in hell if that meant I could be with you," she had answered.

So we officially declared our love for eachother. I pulled her close and Ebony even cried a bit. I couldn't believe it had taken us so long to admit these feelings to each other, to fully believe in what the other said. But it was beautiful that we could now experience this together.

"Please, don't blame me, don't blame me," Ebony said. "Don't blame me for what you made me do."

"I don't blame you," I whispered. "We just didn't have that good of a start with communication, but we can improve that."

"That sounds great," she said. Silence fell until Ebony opened her mouth again. "What are we going to do now?" she asked.

"Well," I started. "My parents have disowned me because I said I would rather love you than be queen, so I can't come home," I told her.

"My parents don't want me dating a girl," Ebony said.

"Can't we just run away?" I asked her. "We could just give up our royal titles and build a life somewhere else." It would be hard to leave her royal lifestyle behind, to live like a normal person for the first time in her life, but with Ebony she would be able to do that.

"Is that worth it?" Ebony asked unsure.

"For me, it will definitely be worth it," I told her. "I already lost my titles, my land, my birthright. And I gave it all up willingly for you. I would give up even more to be with you, and I hope you feel the same about me."

Ebony thought about it for a second. "Yes," she ultimately answered. "Yes, I think it will be worth it. I don't think I can let my royal life go that easily, but I will be with you."

"It's the same for me."

"It's just that the alternative is marrying Damian and forever thinking about what could've been," Ebony told me. "And Damian is a great guy, but I would never be truly happy with him, and he would know that. He deserves to be happy, to marry a girl that loves him back."

"I think so too. Everyone deserves to be married to their true love," I said. "And so do we."

Ebony nodded. "I will make that come true. I will not stop until I have married the woman of my dreams, even if that means we have to live the rest of our lives at the edge of the country as poor farmers. If I'm with you, I'll be happy."

I nodded. "You don't need to save me, but would you run away with me?" I asked.

"Yes, let's get away," Ebony answered.
