 Nino's POV:

  I burst into the room.

I knew I smelled like sweat.

I was out on a jog when I received the message from Alya.

I did not take time to go home and bathe.

I just went straight to the hospital.

This is how I ended up here in silence with my arms around her despite my horrendous odor.

I was grateful she did not pull away.

  I knew I messed up.

I might have ruined my chances with her.

For now, it felt good to be able to calm her down.

I heard sniffles not far away.

I looked up for a moment and saw it was Chat Noir.

Whoa, I thought Chat is so sad.

    I heard Marinette speak.

I will never forget her words as dreadful as they sounded.

"Nino, do not leave Alya in the dark. Please, make sure to mend things with her. She needs you right now, maybe even more than you need her. Also, make sure Chat moves on and help Adrien.  He needs a friend. I am so sorry that my strength wore out." These were the last words I recalled her saying.

I dared not argue with her. Who could back talk someone at death's door?

I  wished I could have gotten there sooner.

I felt bad about the whole thing.

All the what if's in life came back at that moment as I held Alya close to me.

What if I had not cheated?  What if I had said no?  What if I had not been so busy when my friends needed me?  There were too many to list them all.
