 Tom's  POV:

"I can not believe our daughter is gone, Tom."

"I know, Sabine, sweetheart."

I felt bad that I could not do more to comfort my wife.

It was my fault. The roof needed new tiles. I had not been able to have it taken care of before today. Now, our daughter was under a pile of bricks, dust, concrete, and much more.

I  knew without a doubt she was dead.

So, why did I hope Chat would find some trace that proved me wrong?

      I sighed.

"Chat, she is beyond, your help!"  I called out.

I saw him look up as he shook his head at me.

The stubborn feline dug through the debris.

          I  could not stop him.

I saw the determination in his eyes.

Fine, what harm could come from this?

       Perhaps, nothing.

Then again, it could mean everything was worse than it appeared.

I was terrified at what he might discover.

"Sabine, come on, let us go stay with your sister."  I insisted.

I could tell she was reluctant to leave.

After I pleaded with her more, she agreed.

I  called the emergency number then a taxi.

I saw the medics show up, then the taxi.

I explained all to the paramedics.

As soon as I finished my wife and I left in the taxi.
