[In Sav's Point of view]

My forehead rested against his as I kept my eyes closed.

"Thank you, "I said in a whisper, My breath shaking.

"For what?" He replied, his voice low and brittle.

"For making me see that true love existed and that I could have a chance at love even when___"

"Sshhssss." he placed his index finger on my lips. "let's enjoy the silence," he added as his lips curved into a smile.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

A knock on the door interrupted us.

"Who's there?" I asked and made an attempt to get up.

"Lemme get the door. It's probably Adobi don't worry." he stood up and made his way to the door. He opened and let Adobi in.

"Ermm I think I should get going. It is getting late." He Said after Adobi had entered.

"You are not running away are you?" Adobi asked. We all burst into laughter.

"No dear I have to meet the boys for training. We have a big match after exams next week. I don't want to get coach angry you know." He explained.

He turned to me,
"Let's meet at our usual place tonight okay?" he winked as he stepped outside.

"You guys are cute you know that?" Adobi whispered.

"I heard that!" He shouted from outside.

I smiled and laid back on my bed. At that moment, all I could think about was him. I was just yearning to look upon his face again then my phone vibrated.

I read through the notification pane. My heart skipped a beat when I realized it was him.

JEFF: Sup Cherry 😘

ME: Hello. Cherry? Are you in the wrong inbox?

JEFF: Lol no. This is the right inbox.

ME: So who is cherry?

JEFF: You of course...

ME: Me? Cherry? Why?

JEFF: Because you complete my life so from now on you are my cherry.

I smiled.

ME: Lol. You are funny you know that? Funny but cute. 🙊
Anyways ain't you supposed to be training or something?

JEFF: Yeah I got benched. Coach has gone Coocoo because I missed training for three weeks.
Let's forget about that...

I had a great time today.😉😇

ME: Me too. Thank you.😘

JEFF: So I was wondering... Are we "us" now or it's still a no?

ME: What do you think? 🙈

JEFF: I think I'm the happiest guy on earth now!

ME: Lol 😂 Go away.

JEFF: So tonight at the library right? Same time same place. Gotta go. Coach just called me in. See you cherry... Love you. 😘😘

ME: Love you too charming.

I giggled at the sound of the name I gave him. But I guess it was the right name for him because he charmed his way into my heart.

We met that evening at the library and continued what we used to do before everything else happened. We studied, talked and had fun.

Knowing that it was our last week in school before we went home for vacation, we decided to make every second, every minute and everyday count.

Late-night calls, going to the movies, cooking together, talking about our favourite movies, music, books, walking to and fro together, having all the fun you could think of.

Even without telling a soul in the school, it was soon a known fact that Jeff and I were lovers.

It was seen in the way we gazed at each other and the way our voices became softer whenever we talked to each other.

We were mirrors and echoes of one another in so many ways that couldn't be explained.

I was once asked in class that what would be my definition of a perfect relationship. Then, I couldn't utter a word because I didn't know what it was but now if I were to be asked the same question, I would explain it in just one word; Acceptance.

Yes to me, a perfect relationship is where both parties understand and accept each other for who they are, inside and out. That was what Jeff did. He accepted me when no one could.

All through our best times as days went by quickly, he never invited me to his hostel until the day before our last exam. He asked me to come to his hostel that evening.

JEFF: Hey cherry

ME: Sup charming

JEFF: Nothing much... Just missing you.
Sup with you?

ME: I'm just reading some fanfics on wattpad.

JEFF: Can you come over? My roommates are not around and I'm super bored rn. I could use your company.

For one reason or the other, I hesitated but I agreed to go because he was my boyfriend and there was nothing wrong with going to visit him. At least that's what I thought.

ME: Okay charming you got yourself a company 😂.

JEFF: Great! I would be waiting. 😉

I tossed the phone on my bed and got myself into a blue sweater and a boot cut jeans and made my way to his place.

After about ten minutes of walking, I found myself right in front of his door. I took a deep breath and knocked.

My heart rate quickly surpassed the normal rhythmic beat as I stood in front of his door. I took a deep breath and tried to stay calm but it wasn't working.

My heart kept pounding then it stopped completely when Jeff opened the door.

"Hey Sav! Come in." he gestured showing me the way.

I let out a faint smile as I passed through the door. He smiled back and gave me a kiss on the cheek then my heart starting beating faster again. It was as if it wanted to escape its cage.
