[In Savannah's Point of view]

"what?  Why? 😓 Talk to me Sav... You can tell me whatever it is. I promise we will get through it together."

I stared at the message on my phone in silence. I knew I have got a choice to make and either of the choices I make wouldn't end well.

Life is made up of choices. In Life, there are a series of decisions we make, and depending on our choice, must live with the result of that decision.

The choices usually consist of a lot of possibilities and, whether these possibilities are real or imagined, we must know that in some way the decision will change our lives forever.

This is something that can not be changed because there are so many factors involved with our decision-making and with its unknown result, many of us hesitate to even make a choice, thinking it would be safer and that we’d be better off where we are instead of delving into the unknown.

When making a choice, one must be aware of how their choice will affect the future ramifications of their lives. Of course, there are different types of choices; some are easy to make, while others are more difficult.

A choice becomes difficult especially when it is about love or a relationship with someone.

You know in your heart that there is a person out there for you. A person you really love yet you can not be with the person because there’s something keeping you from being together and you have to make a choice whether to stay with them although all the odds are against you or you have stayed away.

These choices whichever one you make ends up in regret and this was the situation I was presented with; a very difficult one.

And I didn't know what to do. It felt the world was against me.

My eyes flooded with tears as scrolled up the messages and read them all over again.
As much as I tried to hold them in, I just couldn't. One slid down, followed by another one, and another one, until the beads of water continued falling down one after another, without a sign of stopping.

This was a difficult time and I wasn't sure I could do this alone.

Adobi saw my ordeal and walked over to my bed and sat beside me. She took my hand and wrapped her hands around me.

"You can cry all you want. Just let your heart out," she said pushing my head to her shoulder. I sobbed into her chest unceasingly, hands clutching at her dress.

After several minutes of crying, I calmed down and soaked in the silence of the room.  My eyelid became heavy and sleep nearly stole me when I heard Adobi whispered.

"You know you can tell him the truth right?"

"No Adobi! I can't do that." I said pulling myself from her hands.

"Some truths are better kept than told," I added wiping my face with the back of my palm.

"How is better if you keep it from him?" She asked puzzled.

"You know I'm keeping it from him because I don't want him to find himself in a crossroad where he would have to decide whether to stay with me out or leave and even if he decides to stay with me, I don't want it to be out of pity," I explained.

"That's not right Sav. I'm sorry dear friend but you can't make decisions for him. That will be selfish on your part.  Just tell him the truth and let him decide if he would stay or not. That __"

"___and that is my fear Adobi. What if after hearing everything he decides to stay away? That would hurt more than me pushing him away right?" I chipped in as sadness clouded my face.

"And what if he doesn't? Have you thought of that? You look through the chat again and tell me if  Jeff is a guy who will not stay after learning the truth? I mean this is a guy you have humiliated in public several times and he still follows you around. I'm sure he will not go running because of you are errmmmm....you know?" she hesitated.

"Oh it's OK don't you hesitate. You can talk about it. I am OK with it." I assured.

"OK if you say so but what I'm saying is, you have everything to gain and everything to lose if you tell him the truth. It's a fifty-fifty chance you have to take. Do this for him and yourself dear friend. This might be your only chance at love before the time is up and I'm sure you will never regret it if you make the right choice."

"Alright If you say so." with that, I took the phone and texted him.

ME: Yes... I'm here.

I sent the message and waited for a reply. As usual, he didn't disappoint. The reply arrived in seconds.

JEFF: You have really replied. I can't believe it.

So are you going to tell me what you are protecting me from?

ME: Yes... I am ready to although I'm not that sure you would want to hear about it.

JEFF: You don't have to worry. Trust me whatever it is, I'm not leaving your side. We will go through it together.

ME: I hope you don't regret your words later. we can't talk about this on the phone would you want to come over?

JEFF: Yes definitely but I'm currently in the house dealing with some issues I will be coming back to campus early tomorrow morning. I 'll come to your place when I arrive.

ME: That is fine with me. I will be waiting. Talk to you later.

JEFF: alright sure.

I tossed the phone away and looked back at Adobi who nodded in content.

"You have done the right thing dear and I'm sure you will never regret it," she added.

Do you think Savannah will finally tell Jeff the truth?
