author's note:

Before we start, I wanna write a quick note for y'all. Please read!

So, as you all might know, I'm very attached to this story and its characters, and this is I think one of the only actual length chapters I've had. It's my favourite one out of all others I've written, for this book, and the others. I love Notes, the oc and my fictional Joonie, so I would request everyone to please keep an open mind while reading. I'm pretty sure I've never read a concept like this before, and I was, well, still am improving my writing skills.

Please let me know your thoughts on this, I would very much appreciate all the comments and votes. You'll get to know why I did so much fuss and put an a/n before. So I think that's all, enjoy!

TWO YEARS LATER

"Joon," Yuna shook the sleeping purple head beside her. The car was parked and they were ready to get out, except for the fact that her boyfriend was asleep. She couldn't blame him though, school had been extremely stressful for him lately. "Joonie," she said, poking his cheek, which made him slightly stir in his sleep, "we're here baby. We can check in in our room and then you can sleep again, yeah?"

"No," Namjoon groggily rasped out, rubbing his face to remove the sleep from his system, "I don't want to sleep."

Both of them unbuckled their seat belts and got out of the car they had rented for the weekend. It was a pretty decent car, as Yuna had no problems driving for around five hours from Ilsan to Ulsan, and Namjoon had experienced the best sleep for the whole week. Namjoon got the luggage out from the trunk, which was just a carrier and a backpack, and handed over the backpack to Yuna. He then put an arm around her and they walked towards the reception of their beach facing the hotel.

"Good evening, how can I help you?" The receptionist asked politely, bowing at them. The hotel was fairly nice, with an indoor pool and big rooms and free hampers and whatnot. It has been expensive, yes, but that did not stop them from selecting it. It had a great beach facing view too, and most importantly, the time they spent together on their vacation having fun, relaxing and recharging mattered more.

"We have a reservation under the name of Kims for the weekend," Namjoon notified the receptionist who immediately started finding their name on the computer placed in front of them. "Yes sir. We have some check-in procedures and then you will be escorted to your room."

Filling all the procedures, Namjoon and Yuna were escorted to their very own room for the weekend. "Ah, I'm so tired," Namjoon yawned as he flopped himself on the bed, making it bounce.

Yuna giggled at him slightly, crouching down to her luggage and zipping it open, "I think you should rest," she said, fiddling with her dresses that were neatly placed inside in what one could call was the Marie Kondo method, "I think I'm going to go for a swim."

"Right now?" Namjoon asked in a surprised tone, muffling a yawn, "Aren't you tired? You drove us across the country."

"We're here just for two days, Joon. I might as well enjoy it to the fullest," Yuna shrugged as she got up with her desired clothes in her hand. "You can rest, I'll be back within an hour, tops."

She informed him as she walked into the bathroom, just to hear Namjoon shout in a teasing tone, "If you're going to change, might as well do that in front of me!"

"Namjoon!" A towel came flying in Namjoon's direction, and he dodged it successfully, chuckling. He then got up, and zipped open his suitcase, searching for his swimming trunks as well. If they were going to stay for two days, he might as well enjoy it to the fullest too.

***

"The water's nice." Namjoon heard Yuna say as she paused after doing five laps in a go. "Yeah, it is," he replied as he saw her take a deep breath and swim again.

Honestly, he was in awe. The way Yuna flawlessly moved in the water, twisting and turning and taking rhythmic gushes of oxygen. It was extremely pleasing to his eyes. He had to remind himself to stop gawking creepily at her, who was literally swimming like a mermaid and swim as well.

Hell, if Namjoon was a gym junkie, Yuna was a very flawless water girl, as if she had lived on the poolside her entire life. And he would not hesitate to pay just to watch her swimming flawlessly in the pool his entire life.

"Hey hey hey," Namjoon caught her in his strong arms, breaking off her lap and giggling when she cutely whined. He dragged her towards the wall near the shallow end of the pool, giving a deaf ear to her protests. She was in a pretty 'i-don't-know-the-name-of-the-shade' green swimsuit, and her hair was all wet. Yuna had insisted on wearing the cap, in which Namjoon did not doubt that she would look like a professional swimmer, but Namjoon told her not to. Ever since she had dyed her hair a pretty brown which reminded him of the forest, he loved it. He loved her hair when she kept it down, without any hair ties. He loved the way it fell on her eyes, giving him just another reason to touch it and put it behind her ear.

"What?" Yuna cutely chuckled to see Namjoon lost in the train of his thoughts. It wasn't every day that one would catch Kim Namjoon speechless.

"Eh, nothing," Namjoon said in a nonchalant tone, not letting her go. They were so close that he could count the freckles on her nose, which he did, almost reaching seventy-four before Yuna pushed him, whining out.

"Let me swim, you giant," she pulled in a deep breath, getting ready to resume her swimming in the cool water, but Namjoon caught her hips and pulled her back, once again. "What's happening, Namjoon? You like to trouble me that much, suddenly?"

"No. You are going to exhaust yourself. Let's go back."

Yuna could see the sleep in his eyes. The finals week had just been very exhausting for Namjoon, and she knew that all he needed was ten hours of sound sleep without any disturbances. He was practically staying awake on caffeine for the entire week, and it was extremely concerning. Yuna could see the dark eye bags below his eyes and the tiredness of his body. She suddenly felt guilty that she had dragged him to swim when she should've made sure he slept.

She brought a hand up and brushed the purple locks away from his eyes, caressing the side of his face. Her touch was so comforting to Namjoon, that he closed his eyes for a brief moment, his muscles relaxing as her sweet fingers caressed his face, a finger easing out the frown near his eyebrows. "Yeah," she said, "Let's go back. We can shower, have dinner and sleep."

"Yes, please. I would love that."

Both of them got out of the pool and wrapped themselves in fluffy bathrobes, ready to go back into their room. Namjoon almost slipped, and Yuna helped him steady so that he wouldn't fall face-first on the tiled floor. "I would lift your clumsy highness if I could," she mockingly bowed, her tone grumpy, hating that her size couldn't be of much help. Being a tiny human sure had its benefits, but the downsides were more. One of them was living with a clumsy giant human who she couldn't help.

"But I can lift you so it's okay," Namjoon shot her a cheesy smile, never missing a chance or two to smirk evilly at her with a not so appropriate comment. "I mean, I'm the one who can lift you and toss you effortlessly, right doll? I know you love that."

He began to crouch down, but Yuna pulled him with her to the direction of their room, tutting out. "Nah-ah, I'd rather have you not falling with me in your arms, right daddy?" She grinned innocently and batted her eyelashes playfully, knowing well that Namjoon hated being called that, "Wouldn't want you to lose your, err..abilities. That would be a loss to both of us, right?"

Namjoon huffed out a breath from his nose when Yuna laughed at his expression. "What do you want to have for dinner?" She asked as he was opening the door of their room.

"We can order room service, I don't want to go out today." Namjoon opened the door and entered his room, going to flop down the bed but Yuna held his wrist, preventing him from going any further into the room.

"No pouncing on the bed. You need to shower first," she said in a stern tone, motioning to his figure which was wrapped in the fluffy bathrobe.

"Yuna..." Namjoon dragged in an exhausted tone.

"You want to hop in the shower or shall I go first?" Yuna asked, ignoring his protests. She knew he was tired, but he would get better sleep after washing up and eating a nice hot meal. She started taking out their pyjamas from the bag, setting them out neatly on the little couch in the corner of the room, and searching for the bag of toiletries.

"You can go, I'll order dinner till then," Namjoon said as he grabbed the little intercom phone placed on the table, flipped open one of the menu cards provided by the hotel and skimmed through the contents, contemplating choosing a nice hot meal for them.

"Okay. No sitting on the bed." She added again just to spite him, and Namjoon replied with a roll of his eyes.

"Yes, mother."

Yuna walked into the bathroom and softly closed the door behind her. She walked over to the sink, shredding the bathrobe in the process and placed her toiletries and clothes on the marbled counter, zipping open the bag to grab her essential things. She then stripped out of her swimsuit, tossed it aside and walked into the shower cubicle.

Yuna placed her body wash and shampoo neatly on one of the racks provided, and switched the shower on, a satisfying hum leaving her lips when the warm water hit her body, making all the muscles relax.

She waited patiently below the shower, soaking in all the water's warmth before squirting some body wash, lathering it with the help of a loofah and cleaning each inch of her skin.

Yuna swore she would scream when she felt a pair of arms wrapped around her, taking her by surprise. But unfortunately, or rather, fortunately, Namjoon was nowhere close to silent when he entered the bathroom, although he tried his best to tiptoe in. It was just the stripping of clothes that made Yuna realise she wasn't alone, not that she minded. He could be really cute sometimes.

They avoided taking showers together, Namjoon and Yuna. Although it sounded fun and whatnot, it was not very recommended to have a clumsy human and a tiny human showering together where one could trip and stomp on the second one easily. That was one reason.

Another was that no water was actually saved by showering together, it was rather wasted. And they (author included), being the struggling students trying to find their independence, could not afford a hefty water bill. It would result in cutting off other expenses of the month and we do not appreciate that in this household.

"Hi," Namjoon's voice softly filled her ears as he kissed one of her shoulders. She turned around and locked her eyes with his dark ones. She could see it again.

Every time Yuna saw that emotion in his eyes, she wanted to simply cry. For she had done absolutely nothing to deserve that man. She knew Namjoon loved her, and she did too, but it was more than just that. She could see that he was committed to her, once and for all, that she was the love of his life. Call it narcissistic or anything else, but Yuna always knew everything. She was very self-conscious about all the things happening around her. It was like nature's gift, she could read people's eyes and figure out their emotions.

And she did know that Namjoon loved her. More than she did. And it made her wonder if she was truly worth that man, every single time. She loved Namjoon too, but it was different. Namjoon didn't just love her, he was in love with her. And she had no clue how to go there.

"Hi," she softly replied, gazing up at him. He gave her one of the most heart-melting smiles, and she gave him a small smile of hers. "Do you want me to help you shower?" she asked. She had no clue why they were whispering, but at that moment they were drawn to each other, like the opposite poles of magnets, a gravity between them. Yuna cherished moments like those, and she would not dare ruin them.

Namjoon nodded, and she walked behind him, his back facing her. She could see his back muscles flexing and she slowly started lathering soap on his back, and then washing it clean, repeating the same process with his shoulders. She kissed the mole on his back, slipping her hands around his waist and resting her cheek where she had kissed. "I love you."

It was a reminder. A reminder that she loved him. Even if she didn't love him as much as he loved her, she loved him, with her whole heart.

"I love you more."

It was that phrase again, the one that made tears well up in her eyes. A silent tear slipped from her eyes, and she whispered, "I know. I'm sorry." She made sure she said this every time, but not loud enough for him to hear. She would not be able to accept the fact that Namjoon would know she doesn't love him the way he does. And the most ironic part and hurtful part would be that, he would love her regardless.

She brought up a finger and traced the letters of 'I love you' when they had finished showering and giggled when Namjoon blurted out, "I know you're writing I love you."

"You try then," she smirked up at him, tilting her head, and Namjoon held her chin in his fingers, bringing her face close.

"Have you been crying, baby? What's wrong?"

"No," she replied almost instantly, and then forced the words out of her mouth, "No, it's probably just the soap."

Namjoon narrowed his eyes at her but he knew Yuna wasn't going to faze. If she wanted to tell him, she already would've. He sighed, and then looked at her with eyes full of love and adoration. He loved her so so so much and he just wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. If he could, he would prop down on one knee right that second, but it could be very dangerous and risky, considering that they were literally in the shower cubicle. Not to mention the fact that the ring was probably stuffed in one of the corners of Namjoon's suitcase. He made a mental note to keep it with him always.

Yuna closed the knob of the shower and the water stopped the same second Namjoon said while tucking a stray wet hair strand behind her ear, "You know I love you right?"

"Stop," Yuna exclaimed, her throat tightening, "You're making me feel guilty."

"Sorry," Namjoon tried to apologise to her with a smile and tugged her into his arms, wrapping his hands tightly around her, "I believe you. If you don't want to tell me, then you don't. No questions asked."

"This is not fair..." Yuna trailed off, "Why are you so nice to me?"

"Because I love you with my whole heart. I'm yours," Namjoon said, squeezing her gently.

Yuna said nothing in reply, but rather stood up on her tippy toes and joined their lips together, trying to pour out all the love she had for him. Namjoon tugged her closer and sucked softly on her lower lip, his hands wandering off to places.

He had to say, the shower did send his mind off to imaginative places.

Yuna hooked her fingers through Namjoon's long purple locks, lifting herself to her limit, and Namjoon brought his palm up to cup her cheek, groaning against her mouth when she pulled his hair.

Yuna broke off the kiss in dire need of oxygen, sucking it greedily in her lungs, while Namjoon bent down and kissed her cheek, working his way to go down and down.

"Nam-joon" she panted out, and felt him hum on her skin, now kissing her on the spot between her ear and neck, making her go weak in the knees, "Let's go out?"

The sentence came out as a question, but Namjoon wasted no time to drag her out of the bathroom and onto the bed which bounced softly beneath them, making Yuna burst into a fit of giggles. "I'm— I'm sorry," she said, giggling at the bewildered look that adorned his handsome face, "You look so eager."

Yuna's eyes wandered below to spot his broad shoulders and his wheat gleaming with thousands of water droplets, making him look extremely hot. Her smile dropped and she swallowed, her action caught by Namjoon. He smirked triumphantly.

He bent down to join their lips once again, but the doorbell went off.

"Room service!"

Namjoon made an exaggerated sound of displeasure and rolled his eyes, storming off to the direction of the door, probably going to give a word or two to the poor staff. Yuna pulled him back quickly after pulling a bathrobe on herself, and remarked in a snarky tone, "Going macho now, are we?"

Namjoon smiled at how she was always the person with the right decisions between them, and Yuna blew a kiss on him, whispering, "Be right back, stay on the bed for me, yeah?" She bit her lower lip, teasing him, and walked away to the door. Goodness, Namjoon thought. This woman.

He could hear the muffled exchanges as he waited patiently on the bed, trying to figure out what was taking her so much time. She then pushed into the room with a steel trolley with plates and glasses and cutlery, a wide smile stretching on her lips. A delicious aroma spread in the room, and Namjoon's stomach growled with hunger. "Mr Kim," Yuna said, her eyes turning into cute crescents, "as much as you look rather irresistible sitting patiently for me, I think we should eat while the food's still hot."

"Yu—"

"Who knows," Yuna cut off his whining protests, smirking silently to herself. She knew she was not playing fair, but he was tired and a nice hot meal would help. "You might get dessert later." Namjoon chuckled at her, walking quickly to the couch where Yuna had situated the cart and was serving plates, "And you ordered Miso soup! I love Miso soup."

Namjoon grabbed a container and placed nicely toasted dinner rolls from it in both of their places, along with spoons for the soup. Yuna placed a bowl of soup on Namjoon's plate and placed one on hers as well. She then sat down crossed-legged on the floor, facing the huge window, and Namjoon said, joining her on the floor, "It has tofu and seaweed as well."

"Have I ever told you that I love you?" Yuna sipped a spoonful of soup and put her head back in pleasure. May the person who made that soup live happily for the rest of their life.

"Ninth time today," Namjoon smiled at her.

"Well, I bet you wouldn't mind another one."

"Of course not." He said as he pulled her towards the huge window in their room.

The dinner went by, with feeding each other and making out shapes with stars, laughing and teasing each other. By the end of it, Yuna could see Namjoon's eyes drooping with the need for sleep. She quickly cleared up their plates and pulled him to bed, laying him down. She slid the bathrobe off his body and tucked him in whereas he was just looking at her with those heart eyes and enjoying this special treatment.

She then tossed her bathrobe somewhere and joined him on the opposite side of the bed, slipping in the covers as well. Namjoon smiled at her, the most gorgeous smile she had ever seen, and said, "Are you ready to give me my dessert yet?"

Not letting her even utter a word, Namjoon's strong hands pulled her towards himself and his lips found her swollen ones once again. Yuna almost instantly melted like ice in his hot embrace, kissing him back softly. She brought up a palm and caressed the side of his face when he broke the kiss too soon.

"You're tired, aren't you, baby?" She said softly, kissing the apple of his cheek.

"I like when you call me baby," Namjoon said, sniffling a yawn. He was very tired, and both of them knew it. "No... I'm not tired."

"Sleep," Yuna said, smoothening the frown on his forehead, "Your body needs sleep, baby."

"My body needs you," he said, kissing the side of her head, and going down.

"I know," Yuna said, kissing the tip of his nose. "But your body requires sleep more than it requires me, Joon."

"You'll be by my side if I sleep?"

"I'll be on your side as long as you wish me to be. So go to sleep, baby. I'll be here, no matter what." She kissed his forehead softly, and Namjoon closed his eyes, finally giving in to the urge to sleep.

***

"Do you want something?" Namjoon asked nervously as he eyed Yuna. She had been staring at him for a while now, and Namjoon had cross-checked if he had some lunch stains on his face, which in fact, he didn't. Namjoon, in all aspects, did not mind her staring at him but by the intensity, she was staring with, he was pretty sure that either Yuna was pissed at him or she wanted something from him.

"Nope," she said, popping the 'p', "Nothing."

Namjoon cleared his throat awkwardly, and sat on the bed again, looking at her. Okay, I guess, he thought. She was in a stunning two-piece orange coloured bikini which went very well with her tan skin. She had her hair down, which pleased Namjoon to the bones, having a thing for her dark brown hair now. She was fastening some type of necklace around her neck and looking at Namjoon. Was that an invitation? For dessert? Namjoon's mind raced with thoughts as he saw her biting her lip.

"Yuna..." he trailed off seductively, "I think you do want something from me," Namjoon lifted himself and stood behind her, placing his hands on his shoulder.

"Mhm, yes," Yuna said, licking her lips and tilting her head up so that Namjoon could look into her pretty hazel eyes. "I want two things."

"And those will be?"

"I want your shirt," she said, and Namjoon smirked. He quickly undid the buttons of his half-sleeved cream coloured shirt and gave it to her.

"Here you go."

"And I want sex on the beach."

Namjoon's eyes went wide and he did not dare swallow, because he knew he would have choked on it. "You want that?" he asked in a stupidly surprised tone, and Yuna had the urge to giggle on his shocked face. He could be too cute sometimes.

"Yeah! I love sex on the beach. They taste so good!" She said in a mock-happy tone, which had Namjoon clear his throat.

We're tasting on the beach? He thought. Who said anything about tasting?

"T-taste?"

"Yeah. Have you tried the cocktail? It's very good!"

Namjoon's mouth fell open. Cocktail? Who names a cocktail that?! Yuna could practically see the gears of his head working and she burst out laughing. She slipped on his shirt and took her hat. "Come, let's go. We'll have sex on the beach."

"Sometimes I wonder why I'm with you," Namjoon shook his head but followed her out of their room regardless.

"Because you love me," she replied with a scrunch of her nose, "And because you're my only crab."

"Crab?" Namjoon's face lit up on the mention of crabs. Yuna knew he was very fond of tiny little insects and beings like frogs and crabs. Namjoon had mentioned he could spend his whole day following them.

"Yeah. Female crabs can mate only once in their lifetime. So, if I were a crab, you'd be my only crab partner." Yuna smiled at her cheesy sentence and looked at Namjoon. It was true, if she were to do it all over again just to end up with him, she would.

"Aww," Namjoon said, wrapping his arms around her. So it meant, she wants to spend the rest of her life with him? The luck was on his side, then. He could feel the ring box in his pocket, and he kissed the back of her head. "I love you."

"Me too. Now you need to buy me sex on the beach."

***

"What are you doing?" Namjoon said as he saw Yuna set aside the shirt and rest her head on his thigh, laying on the towel beneath them. Both of them had a fun time playing in the sea and watching Namjoon's beloved 'crabbies'.

"Tanning."

"But there's no sun, silly. It's almost dusk."

"Let me do my female thing," she said, a half-grin stretching her lips, "What are you reading?"

"Poetry," Namjoon said as he showed her the cover page of a book.

"I should've bought a book of my own too," she humped, and closed her eyes, enjoying the calm sound of the sea.

"Do you ever think about the future?" Namjoon said after a couple of minutes of silence had passed through them in silent satisfaction.

"Not so much," Yuna replied with a shrug of her shoulders. She opened her eyes to look at Namjoon, who had rested his book aside and was looking at her, a soft smile playing on his lips.

"Why?"

"I'm more of a 'live-in-the-moment' kind of person, as you know," she said, smiling back at him, "The absolute uncertainty of life scares me. And I think... If I dwell on the thoughts about tomorrow, I might not live my fullest today, which will inevitably come back to me as guilt. It's very exhilarating to live in that state of mind, where I like to think it's my last day on earth."

"That's an interesting point of view," Namjoon thought, weighing each word she had said precisely in his mind. That basically meant that she liked living a life filled with memories and had no place for regrets. Namjoon wished to be that carefree, too.

"I think you already know mine," Namjoon said as a matter of factly. Yuna nodded. Namjoon had the capacity to overthink things a lot. She just wished he could be a little carefree, if not more because she could practically see how much the thinking drained him.

"What about us?" Namjoon asked, staring at her. He had a silent prayer of 'say yes, say yes' chanting in his head like a mantra.

"Well, what about us?" She asked him back, probably about asking him to be more specific.

"Do you... think about our future?" Namjoon asked nervously. This was it. This was the moment. He could feel the pit of his stomach rumbling in nervousness. He had been contemplating whether to do it or not for the past week, and Yuna's answer would be the last final word. It was now, or never.

"Not much." She shrugged and noticed the frown on his face. She then started to explain, "As I said, you're my only crab. And I love you, Mr Botany," she smiled, "So as per me, there's nothing to think about for the future. I already have what I want with you, right now."

So... that meant, no future? Just present tense? "So you're happy the way we are, right now?" Namjoon asked, his expression not giving off anything in general. He did not want to pressurise her by proposing. He would do it when and only when he would get a green flag from her.

"Of course. Are you not happy?" Yuna asked. "I'm very happy. I'm living with the person I love, and who loves me, I am studying what I like the most, I'm here on this beach looking at this gorgeous sunset, what do I need more in life?"

"Well, I don't know..." Namjoon trailed off, "The other things couples have, probably?"

"What, marriage? Kids?" Yuna asked, and Namjoon neither said yes nor said no. He just simply shrugged. "Aren't we too young for that? I would like to marry when I'm having a decent job. You would want the same, right?"

Namjoon tried his best to not make faces. So it was no. She didn't want to marry. "Totally," he faked a smile.

There was silence between them, and he went through her words again in his head. She never said she didn't want to marry him, she just didn't want to marry him now. A self-realising smile unconsciously came unto Namjoon's lips, and he bent down to kiss her forehead.

She wanted to wait. He could wait. Another couple years, decades or even another lifetime. He could wait as long as she needed.

After all, he was her only crab, and she was his.

They had all the time in the world.

"Do you want to dance?" He asked, as he got up, and gave out a hand to her.

"You cannot dance though," Yuna chuckled, looking at her crab— or, her only man, and he smiled.

"You can lead me."

"Okay then, Mr Kim, follow my lead," Yuna said as the walked over to a soft patch of sand, and she guided him, dancing in the faint glow of the sunset.

I will, Namjoon thought, I will follow your lead all my life. You're my only crab, after all.

I will wait for you, even if it takes another lifetime.
