the rain drops from the night before started to dry

and the plants began to chatter amongst themselves

the sun suddenly had piqued interest for what happens down here

and seemingly enough, it was like the horrors from last night's storm was never there

like I didn't waste my time tossing and turning from the irks and screams from my window

like I wasn't reminded of all the things we've lost from the wreckage and the chaos

gut-wrenching, deadly things seeped in through the cracks of the world last night

and today, it was like it didn't happen at all.
