High school sweethearts moved into college lovers. Your family loved Haechan, but not as much as you. Throughout the end of high school, the both of you talked on and on about the future.

"Where are you applying to for college?" Haechan asked you. The day was clear and warm. You two sat under a tree to keep cool in the shade. Your head was rested against Haechan's chest while his arms looped around you.

"Why?"

"So I can apply with you."

You told him he shouldn't apply somewhere just because that's where you're going, but he insisted.

"What if it doesn't offer what you want?"

"If you're there, then it already does." Haechan planted a soft kiss on the top of your head.

And you stayed right by each other, even through college years. Between each class, you could expect to see Haechan waiting outside for you. If you were stressed out from homework, Haechan would visit you. He would let you lean against him as he played with your hair and sang to you.

"I love you, (y/n)," he whispered to you as your eyes fluttered. They were weighed down with a heavy feeling of exhaustion.

"I love you, too."

Haechan's friends would occasionally visit. These weekends were wild, but fun. Some of them were in relationships themselves and it brought up a few group-date nights. These people turned into your family.

The year came for you and Haechan to graduate. You two have been adults now for some time, and Haechan wanted to take the next step in his life.

At the graduation ceremony, he mentioned you in his speech...

"Back in high school, I met someone who was new to my hometown in Jeju." His eyes landed on you as he spoke into the microphone. "They really inspired me and brought such a bright light to my life. They make me the happiest guy alive."

You blushed, covering your smiling face.

"I love this person with all my heart, and I just want to ask them one thing before I leave. (Y/n)?" Haechan slowly retrieved a small black box from his pocket as he kneeled on the ground near you. "Will you marry me?"

Excitement bubbled inside of you and your heart jumped. Tears began to form in your eyes. The answer was obvious.

"Yes."

Love. You loved each other.

Love is the warmth that fills your coldest moments. Like hot chocolate, or coffee, or tea on a cold day. It fills you with warmth while keeping your hands toasty on the sides of the cup. Or like a fluffy sweater that hugs you in it's fabric. Or like a rainbow, painting color even in your gloomiest days. Love is bright like the sun parting from the clouds.

What a wonderful thing it is.

Love is what brought you Haechan, and your daughter.

As time went on, Haechan seemed to soften with age. His young, mischievous self turned into a dad full of jokes. He was gentle and caring towards your daughter and raised her well with you. Raised her in a family full of love.
