So this is Nat's diary, huh? Very cheerful. I especially loved the page about death. Well, anyways, this is Jade, Nat's friend. You'd never know that though, because she doesn't write about that kind of thing like a normal person. Thought I'd just see what she was always writing in this thing and I couldn't resist the urge to put something down.

Caleb's a wreck about Nat dying, especially since he was holding her in his arms as it happened. I think he'll be like this for a while, he didn't eat for three days after it happened. I think he threw out the chocolate she gave him.

I'm sad too, we've been best friends since she found out I was a witch. Caleb is heartbroken. I want to help him, but the only thing that will make him feel better is something that can't happen.
