Kieran breathed in and out shakily as he waited for the signal. He tapped his fingers nervously against his thigh as he bounced up and down on the balls of his feet. Uploading the article was one thing, but was it necessary to do it after breaking into the school? What if he was caught?

A sudden rustling in the trees above him made him start running. The founder had said someone would throw a huge rock at the trees above him as the signal, and he didn't want to be around when the rock was coming back down. He raced to the back door that should be unlocked, and he slipped through it quickly.

Once he shut the door behind him quietly, he let out a small breath of relief. He didn't know who the others involved in the crime were, but he doubted they were as large or noticeable as he was.

Crime . . .

Trying to shake his head clear of those thoughts, Kieran turned on the flashlight of his phone and crept towards the staircase. The library was on the third floor, which meant he had quite a walk.

As he climbed up the stairs, Kieran wondered what he had done to deserve all this. Sure, he said a few bad things about a few people on the site, but that wasn't so bad, was it? Everyone else was doing it, and it wasn't like he was the worst person. @fakepplneedtogetreal, for example, had been the one to expose Jason Evelou, indirectly causing what happened to him, yet he or she didn't even seem to be receiving any punishment! Why couldn't that person be the one to do this shit?

Finally on the third floor, Kieran pressed a hand against the door and pushed it open. After checking that the coast was clear, he went as fast as he could -- which was not that fast -- to the library. It should be open, with one computer turned on inside, all ready for Kieran to upload the file to. Half of him hoping it would open so he could get the night over with it, and half of him hoping it was closed so he had an excuse to leave, he twisted the doorknob of the library door and pushed.

It was locked.

Eyes widening slightly, Kieran tried the door again. Although he had been hoping for a case like this, he was slightly panicking. Was it good or bad that the door wasn't opening? He was wondering what he should do when he suddenly heard footsteps and a light that didn't belong to his phone swept over him.

"Hey, who are you, and what are you doing here?" Gulping, Kieran turned around slowly. One of the security guards from downstairs was holding a flashlight at him. "Are you the kid who's been ruining the school lately?" he demanded, stepping towards him.

Before Kieran could respond or run away, the security guard, now right in front of him, grabbed his bag, opened it up, and turned it upside down.

A red USB and a can of blue spray paint clattered to the ground.

The security guard smirked as he dropped the bag and grabbed Kieran's arm. "Don't even think about running away, kid," he growled as he reached for his walkie-talkie. He continued talking, but a single Ping!  from Kieran's phone made him ignore the security guard and look down.

You have 1 new message from the OBB app! the message read.

Kieran hesitated, then clicked on the notification so he could read the message.

@the.founder.real: This is why you don't show me attitude. Have fun trying to use your attitude to get out of this situation now.
