Morrigan Da Rosa.

The reason for the fall of many kingdoms.

But not all kingdoms, only the ones she deems right to end.

She has put many tyrants to an end. It, of course, gained her a quite few enemies with grudges. She didn't care. She had nothing to lose.

.... That's what she thought at least....

Until she met them, a man and a woman, who both caught her heart. It went smoothly, they all got into a relationship, they got married, they built a house just for all three of them to live in. It was going so well!...

But all good things never stick around for too long..

The woman gave birth to their child. But it cost her life.

Morrigan and the man were devastated.

The man went on a risky mission. He never came back. What did come back was a letter, from the people who killed him. Mocking his death.

She called an old friend to look after her son until she came back.

She did what she does best, destroy their home until there was barely anything left.

She didn't kill them, no. A pregnant woman was among them, she dared not to lay a single finger on them.

"I will leave you and your little town alone. I'll let you live in peace as long as you let me live in peace. If you ever send another pathetic letter to my home again, I'll make sure nothing remains from here."

She warned them and traveled back home, she still had a child to raise after all.

The child grew up to be a ray of sunshine, he helped with everything in the house, playful. Morrigan loved him to bits.

When the child turned 7, he met another boy in a meadow, he brought him back to him and Morrigan's home, telling her that the frail one had nowhere to go.

Morrigan agreed to let the boy stay. It's important for the child to atleast have a friend...

As years went by, Morrigan watched as the two grow up together, her son was thrilled to have a friend, while the other wasn't that expressive.

When they turned 13, she taught them how to defend themselves, her son was a rather slow learner, his friend always helped him, since he understood the lessons a bit more clearer.

Though suddenly, when it hit her son's 16th birthday, his friend suddenly disappeared. Ran away.

Her son was still determined though, he was so sure that his friend would return.

Morrigan was worried, she admires her son's determination, but it rather obvious that he's gone for good...

Until that dreadful day... Her son's 18th birthday. The people she had warned came to her home, with armor, weapons, and potions. She didn't expect them. She wasn't ready to fight them, all she knows is that she NEEDS to protect her son.

The fight was long, most of the people were injured, Morrigan took a few hits, the most concerning was the deep cut on her left arm. She was about to land a blow on one of the men until she heard a scream.

"MOM!!"

She whipped her head to where she heard the scream. Her son had a sword to his throat, terrified. Yet it looked like he was talking to the person that was holding him hostage, panicked.

She couldn't hear what he was saying, the fire they set to her home had started to make the house collapse. She ran to her son but was stopped abruptly by a man who tried to attack her with his axe.

She blocked the attack with her shield, furious.

"I LEFT YOU PEOPLE ALONE FOR YEARS!!! I KEPT MY WORD. IS IT SO HARD FOR YOU TO DO THE SAME?!"

"YOU DESTROYED OUR HOME! IT TOOK US YEARS TO REBUILD ALL OF IT, YOU'VE CAUSED SO MUCH DAMAGE. YOU THINK WE'RE GOING TO LEAVE YOU ALONE? HAH!"

As soon as he lifted his axe away from the shield, she used her hand crossbow to land an arrow to his shoulder. He yelled in pain but quickly tried to hit Morrigan back with his axe. The axe grazed her wound on her left arm, it hurt, but she has to get it together.

"You're a wretched woman. Destroying kingdoms whenever you please. You must face the consequences NOW!"

As the man yelled, the person holding her son hostage pressed the sword a bit harder on her son's neck, causing it to make a small wound, but not deadly enough. It made her son panick even more, and Morrigan? Enraged.

"GET YOUR HANDS OFF HIM YOU MONSTER!!"

"MOM!! PLEASE I DON'T WANT TO DIE!!!"

Her son sobbed, Morrigan pushed the man aside and tried to run to him as fast as possible.

"WHY ARE YOU HESITATING?! FINISH HIM!"

The man yelled once more.

As on command, the person slit his throat and let go of her son. He started to choke on his blood, dropping down to his knees, trying to cover up the wound to his hands. The person then ran away as they saw Morrigan ran toward them.

Morrigan quickly kneeled infront of her son, trying to find anything in her bag or pockets to help him with his wound.

"M.. Mo–"

"NO. Don't you dare say anything. Save your energy. Just- try to stay awake. Please."

She was desperately trying to find anything to help her son. Her mind was racing with panicked thoughts

"Maybe there's an extra health potion on one of the nearby dead bodies, but what he does if I leave his side? Before I can even say goodbye?? What if–"

The questions in her mind were cut off as a hand gripped her cape. She looked over, it was her son's hand, she looked up at him, trying her hardest not to sob.

"I-t's... Ok-ay.... I... Love–you... Mom..."

He smiled one last time before turning limp, she quickly caught him, hugging him close, begging him over and over to come back, crying her heart out. She just wants him back, you can take her life instead just not her baby boy..

Her mourning was abruptly disturbed after she heard a footstep. She looked behind her, enraged. How dare they step foot in her home and take away the last person she called family. She turned back, layed her son gently on the ground, not even daring to look at the pathetic imbeciles.

"I kept my word."

She pulled out a bottle filled with a strange black goop from the pocket in her  dress, popped the cap off and started to slowly pour the liquid on the ground, forming a circle.

"I left you all alone. You could've just listen to my warning and lived peacefully."

She started to draw a symbol inside the circle with the same liquid.

"But what do I get for keeping my word? A DEAD SON."

She finished the symbol, she looked back at them, her eyes just filled with dread and rage.

"So this the consequences of my actions? Well. It would be fair for you to get your own taste of it, right?"

She stood up, turning around to face them.

"Hear my call, Empress of the shattered night. Grant me the power to bestow upon these fools on what you do to souls who don't deserve to pass on."

As she spoke those words, the circle on the ground grew in size as it turned into a portal that leads to an abyss. Large, dark hands appeared out of the portal, pulling itself up, revealing a monstrous being, glitching here and there.

The poor souls started to scream in terror, trying to run for their lives. Only for the being to trap them all in a place similar to a mansion, made out of pure darkness.

"Let's... Play ! "

It spoke as it controls whatever is in that wretched mansion.

Morrigan didn't care about the yells of pain. She just picked her son up and walked away from the area, ignoring her wounds.

She now swore to never give anyone a second chance. Her judgement is final.
