Charlotte was one of the many beauties in paris(turning 18 the day the germans started invading, May 10th 1940) catching the eye of a German soldier who was a total nice guy, when he had visiting her (much to her displeasure, because she was starting to live with her boyfriend for five years, a sweet russian gentleman named Misha[who was suffering from anorexia but Charlotte was trying to do anything to help], but he disappeared after the soldier asked him if they could "hang out" later) he starts flirting with her, but when she tried to do something about him, that failed, she ended up getting raped by the soldier. Now, he ties her to her bed and comes back nightly,with food and water, or he'll continue. She tried to escape, it worked for a bit until Ester's husband finds her, Wolfgang then proceeds to drag her to the small little car where the German soldier was
The german soldier took her back then started to more violent with his "fun", but stops coming for a few days, starving Charlotte for a bit before coming back with some food, then proceeds to feed her himself, calling her degrading nicknames
When she tried to escape again, she got alot farther but hesitated, which, was her death, she was trying to get a disguise, but seeing as the german she was small, and did not have the spine to hurt a fly.
Ending up getting shot

Amelia Nightingale, one of the nurses in the English infirmary during the 1918 influenza epidemic, (31 at the time) who was kind of a feminist, killing people with kindness when some people (mainly her family, who were older then old school) commented on her being a nurse and not having a child nor a husband (unlike her younger sister who married at 20, to a 34 year old walt disney wannabe), but despite her cheery attitude outward, she hated those comments, so much so, that, before she started to work for the hospital because of influenza, when her parents got sick, she "didn't know" she was giving them shit that made it worse, then took a break to "morn", then helps the British military with influenza
Karma bit her in the ass. Basically, one day in the ward, she's just going through the ward, helping patients, like everyday, but, out of nowhere she collapses with influenza
Turning blue, her lungs as holey as swiss cheese, making her chest snap and pop like rice cereal.
