So one person has already signed up for the contest! I'm super excited about this, and you guys have a little more than a month!

Ok, so this is just a random doodle. A species I've come up with, I'm calling them treasure wraiths, or just wraiths. They basically steal treasure and eggs from dragons, are nocturnal, and always travel in packs. They are considerably smaller than dragons, only a third of the size, but their 4 wings propel them to faster speeds, and they normally have the advantage of numbers. They also only have two limbs, so they're more agile in the air and are able to fly farther distances than dragons without resting. They travel mostly by echo location, and their eyes can detect treasure, sort of like a heat seaker.

Their roles in their "pack" are shown by the gems on their forehead and on their tail. It's almost impossible to move up in rank.

Diamond signify the leader pair

Emeralds signify the hunters/warriors

Pearls signify the mothers

Rubies signify the medicine wraiths.

They don't receive their gems until after 3 moons (months), when they have a set of trials similar in spirit to the trials dragonets go through to become apprentices.
