Pelco's POV

TIMESKIP BROUGHT TO YOU BY my terrible internet

We had finally landed in Pantala after three days of flying.

Thankfuly, Anemone Forest was right on the edge of Pantala.

"How much farther do we need to go?", Avocet asked.

"The vilage is only about an hour's walk from here", Poisonleaf answered.

I could tell Oaktail was excited about a vist home.

"So, why is it called Anemone Forest?", I asked.

"Because it's the one closest to the sea", Oaktail said in response.

"Oh. I thought it was named after the flower Anemones", Avocet said.

"Nooooooo, but, we have those here", Oaktail told him.

"I can't decide if the ocean is beautiful or if it's an annoying dessert of water", Avocet remarked.

"It's beautiful, but, I think I've only seen half of it's beauty", Oaktail said looking at me.

"It is beautiful", I  said with a smile.

A blue flower grew out of the gound near my talons. Oaktail picked it and put it behind my ear.

"Not quite as beautiful as you, Melleth Nin", he said in a whisper only I could hear.

"Ahem!"

Our moment was once again ruined by Poisonleaf.

We'd walked several ways, when Oaktail ran ahead of us.

"Oliveleaf, my friend, how have you been?"

The Leafwing ran towards Oaktail.

They stood there talking for a few minutes before coming back.

"Pelco, this is my friend Oliveleaf."

Oliveleaf grinned.

"Ma guvanen, Pelco."

"Pleasure's all mine."

Avocet looked confused.

"You guys are on the right track. Just keep going east", Oliveleaf told us.

As we walked the trees became more plentiful and more beautiful.

Lacewing looked as if she was scowling at the trees.

"Stop glowering, Lacewing; the trees don't like it", Amur whispered.

Lacewing scoffed.
"I hate Leafwings' annoying obssesion with trees."
She scowled even more.

Up ahead, I could see blue  lights.

As we walked closer, feastive music reached our ears.

I found myself walking to the beat of the music.

I looked at Oaktail and realized he was doing the same thing.

And before I knew what was happening, I found myself dancing with him.

When the song ended, I was out of breath.

"I didn't know you could dance so well", Oaktail commented.

"Nither did I."

Two Leafwings walk up and embraced Oaktail.
I guessed they were his parents.

"Morpho told us you were coming with Amur and Lacewing. I can't belive what happend."

Oaktail's Mom turned towards me.

"Who's this, Oaktail?", she asked with a warm smile.

Oaktail wrapped his wing around me.

"Pelco, these are my parents, Redleaf and Akee.
Mother, Father, this is Pelco, my girlfriend."

Akee let out a little squeal.

"Oaktail!", she cried happily, pulling both of us into a hugg.

"What will happen to Amur and Lacewing?", I asked becoming serious.

"Morpho will be here tomarow to pick them up. They'll probably be  imprissioned for about five years", Redleaf answered.

"Lacewing said something about you killing her sister. What was that about?"

Redleaf sighed.

"That was almost four years ago. Queen Sequia was preparing for war with Queen Wasp and we were insturucted to stay in the vilage and watch over things. One of the Hivewings disscovered our hidding place and she attcked us. She killed two other Leafwings who had been ordered to stay with us. I had no other choice but to kill her."

Redleaf sighed again.

Akee put a wing around her mate to comfort him.

"You were trying to protect us. You did what you thought was right", she told him.

"But, it was Wasp who attacked us not Lacewing's sister."

"True, but, at the time the mission to Pantala hadn't happend yet so, there wasn't any way for you to do about that", I reasoned.

Redleaf smiled.

"Oh yeah, she's a keeper, Oaktail."

I blushed at returned his smile.

Two other leafwings walked up to us.

One of them, a girl, was about thirteen years old.
The other, a boy, was about two or three.

"Oaktail!"
The dragonet ran into Oaktail's embrace.

Aww, such a good older brother!

Oaktail and his younger brother had a hurried conversation in whispers.
And then, much to my surprise and delight, the dragonet ran and hugged me.

"Oaktail tells me your his girlfriend! Thank you so much for helpping him! I'm Elmtree by the way."

I smiled at the small dragonet.

Oh. My.Gosh.
He's so cute!

"I'm Pelco in case Oaktail didn't already tell you."

Me and Oaktail's sister, Acerose, became close very quickly. Having her as a sister-in-law was fine by me.

Several Leafwing beconed us to a large table.

"Come! It's time for feasting and merriment!"

Some say that of all the tribes, Leafwings have the best food, the best music and the best senses of humor.
I cannot confirm the latter, but I'll never forget the amazing music of the Leafwings.

After the feast, mush singing and dancing followed.

I found myself wishing Tody and Cliff were there with us.

At some point, Oaktail found himself getting a lot of requests for a song.

"I don't know-"

"Please, Oaktail?", Elmleaf begged.

"Why don't you guys ask Pelco? She has a beautiful voice."

Many Leafwings now voiced the idea that we both sing.

"Why don't we do it together, Oaktail?", I asked.

Eventally, Oaktail gave into the audience's wishes and everyone tuned into the song, for all the dragons of both continents knew the song by heart.

Third person POV/ No one's POV

It was late in the night and Avocet now had the watch.

The Leafwings had offered to watch Lacewing and Amur, but Poisonleaf had declined the offer.
The Leafwings didn't have a guest house, so they had to camp in the forest near the vilage.

Lacewing waited until Avocet had begun to nod off before she committed her deed.

She had successfuly snuck the drug into Pelco's food without anyone noticing.

If you walk a couple metures, you would come to a large ravine, on top of which was their place of campment.

Lacewing pisked up Pelco and gritted her teeth.

Pelco was only a little smaller than her and surprisingly heavy.
Her claws dug into Pelco's wing.

Just a few more feet and the deed would be done.

She reached the ravine and threw Pelco over the side.

Avocet jolted awake.
"Oaktail!", he yelled.

Oaktail sat up.
"What?"

"Lacewing just threw Pelco over the ravine!"

Without farther question, Oaktail dove into the ravine.

Oaktail's POV

I caught Pelco just before she hit the bottem of the ravine.

She looked pretty beat up.

Oh please be alive!

Lacewing and Amur were pinned down by several Leafwings at this point.

I set Pelco down on the gound as carefuly as I could.

Amur looked horrified when he saw her.

Lacewing, on the other talon, looked disappointed.

"What have you done? Why won't she wake up?", Akee yelled.

"I drugged her with this."
Lacewing held out a pouch which Akee snached from her.

She took out a flower.

"This is Amilar or as many of you call it, Eye of the River. During times of warfare, it was used as a poison. It can be used to knock someone out, but, it doesn't take much to kill a dragon."

I looked at Pelco desprately.

No, no, no, plaese don't die!

Akee took some leaves out of a pouch around her neck.
She crushed them and held them under Pelco's nose.

To my relife, her beautiful eyes fluttered.

"Oaktail, wha- what happened?", she asked weakly.

She tried to sit up, but, I urged her not to.

Pelco's POV

My body ached and my cuts were begining to feel as bad as the looked.

A blue Silkwing approuched us.

"I'm Morpho. Youa re no longer need to be ressponsible for these dragons. I can asure you their punishment will be mush more servere as a result of this."

Akee offered to clean my wounds. I accepted the offer thankfuly.

"You're lucky these aren't any worse than this. You'll probabaly have a few scars over here on your wings, but, nothing any worse than that. You should probably wait until flying again for at least two days", Akee advised.

"So, we have to wait two days before we head back to Jade Mountain?", Avocet asked.

"Wait, Mother, what if we. . . "
Oaktail whispered something I couldn't hear.

"I think that would work."

"Avocet, go get Pelco's packs. Are you ready, Pelco?", Oaktail asked.

"Uh, I guess so? What are we going to do about me?", I asked.

"You'll see", Oaktail answered with a cheaky grin.

Oh boy, what's he up to?

After a quick breakfeast, we said goodbye and our trip back to Phyrria begane.

"Ok, let's go!"

"Ahh!"

I looked down and realized Oaktail was carrying me.

This guy is so dead. . . . deader than Darth Vader!!!
