Wanted Comfort

It was after a perticularly rough mission when Ahsoka was sitting by herself in a crusier. Sure the mission was over, but that didn't stop her from thinking about it. Only very few of the missions she has been on with Anakin held casualties. This one adds to the few. Anakin and Ahsoka lost more than half of their troopers. For them it was three fourths too many.

Ahsoka was sitting thinking of all the men that they just lost. To her they had never just been clones, they were just as much a real person as she and Anakin were. So losing them to her felt horrible. Not to mention having the force made it worse, being able to feel as each of them fell and have to keep holding ground was a lot for anyone to handle.

Ahsoka knew that being a jedi meant no emotions, but like before, she's just as human as the next. Everyone has emotions, even jedi. Letting them go so soon is something she didn't know how to do. She could never understand how right after so many men were lost, people could just move on like they were no one, like they were nothing.

Anakin let her talk to the troopers because he cared as well. Not all masters do. Thats one of the better things about Anakin. He knows all that these men do for the jedi and for the war. This earns respect from him, because of this Anakin gets respect from them. Anakin also values their safety, he puts it in front of receving a victory, it's why all the missions they are on have such a high rating of survivors.

So while Ahsoka is waiting for the ship to take them home, she thinks about this, about everything, just trying to sort one thing out. Her life would be so much easier. Ahsoka didn't know where her master was, but she knew he was close by.

Anakin never liked to leave her alone after missions. She didn't know if it was his protectiveness or his duty of being a master, it's just the way it was. She didn't find it annoying, though some people might, she found it helpful. Whether it was just knowing that she still had someone who cared close by or the fact that she secretly loved his protection, she loved it.

Ahsoka felt the ship lurch out of hyperspace and took that as her cue to go find her master. She checked the main deck first but found he wasn't there, she then went to the launch bay to find him working on his ship. The Twilight was sitting gracefully over the other ships and Anakin was underneath it screwing a pallet back onto the outside of the ship to complete the shell.

He must have sensed her walking over because he didn't look up at her, but spoke in a soft voice, "Hey Snips, you about ready to go home?" Ahsoka smiled and sat down in front of him.

"Yes, I  can't wait to take a nap," she said. Anakin smiled and rolled out from under the ship to sit up next to his padawan. Once he was there his smile faltered.

"We took a big hit today," he said solemnly.

Ahsoka bit her lip then sighed, "Yeah we did."

They sat in silence for a minute before getting onto The Twilight and heading back to the Jedi Temple. The ride was quiet until Anakin spoke, "okay Snips, we're home."

As the Temple came into sight Ahsoka stood up to collect her things. Which wasn't much, but their one shared bag had some leftover food and medical supplies in it.

As she picked up the tote, the familiar jolt of the ship landing ran through her. With Anakin by her side they exited the ship and walked to the Temple doors. The grand opening to the temple didn't come soon enough becuase the pair were bombarded with reporters and public media anouncers.

"Wha-" Ahsoka let out a surprised gasp. The reporters swarmed them like bees, asking them questions about their mission.

"Was the mission sucsessful?"

"Were the speratists planning a counter attack on the Jedi?"

"How many people were lost?"

"Injuries?"

"Did the number of casualties rank high like usual?"

As soon as the question was asked, Anakin knew that the person on the other end of that recorder had just made a huge mistake. "I'm sorry, what?" Ahsoka asked with fury in her voice.

"Did the number of casualties rank high? The Jedi have been failing recently in that catagory," The human man said. He thrust the recorder in Ahsoka's face waiting for an answer. Anakin knew that Ahsoka was about to blow, but as he was about to put a hand on Ahsoka's shoulder she lashed out before he could stop her.

"Do you have any idea what it is like on the battlefield? What it's like to see your best friend lying face down in the dirt, not moving? Or going face to face with the person who killed your parents or enslaved your people? No. You have no idea what it's like. So once you have an idea, some experience in those, then come talk to me. For right now, get out of our way!" Ahsoka never once yelled at a person with no remorse, this was a first. But she would never come to think she did anything wrong, that man was prying in all the wrong places, it's his fault.

"Come on Ahsoka," Anakin said putting his hand on her back gently pushing her in the direction of the building. Ignoring the rest of the people, Ahsoka stormed ahead of her master.

"Master Skywalker!" Someone called out to him. He sighed and turned around to face the small Tweli'k woman. "What happened on the mission to make Padawan Tano so upset?"

"Something unspeakable. Wait till the offical reports come out for more detail. Until then, no comment." With that he turned and walked into the building after his aprentice. Once he was out of the media's line of sight, he sprinted down the corridors to his shared room with Ahsoka.

He got to the door and took a minute to catch his breath before going into the room. When walking into the apartment the first room is a living room with a couch, a TV, and two chairs. Off of this room the kitchen comes next. With just a refrigerator, sink, and some cabinets there's not much there.

When Anakin gets in he spots Ahsoka wrapped in a blanket and curled up on the couch. He smiled slightly, he loved when Ahsoka, unawearily, reminded him of the fact that she was still a kid that needed love and guidence.

"Ahsoka?" He questioned as he walked over the couch to sit next to her. Ahsoka sniffed as she looked over to him. She was leaning against the arm of the sofa and was facing the middle, so Anakin sat in the middle of the couch to see her well and to be able to comfort her the best he could. Her master could see that her eyes were red and puffy from crying.

"What's going on in that head of yours, Snips?" Anakin asked softly. He reached out and placed his hand on her leg, trying to let her know that he was here for and with her.

"It's just a lot Skyguy and I never really knew how much it was," her voice cracked as it was said, "with the mission that just happen, we lost so many people. Then telling that man only a few things that we witness. It's just so much." She sniffled at the end.

Anakin just scooted closer to her. "You're right, it is a lot. It's also not going to change. But we have ways of managing it. Also this Jedi thing of "releasing your emotions into the force" thing," he made a weird face and hand gesture to go along with his mocking voice, recieving a chuckle from the upset woman, "is not for everyone. Emotions just don't work like that. These stressed and overwehlmed emotions that you are feeling are normal. I get them too. You have somewhere to go when you feel like this though. You come to me, no matter what I'm doing, what you're doing, I will be here to talk and be with you. Okay?"

Ahsoka didn't know what to say. Nothing she could say would let him know the gratitude she is feeling at the moment or the wanting of his comfort at the moment. All she could get out was, "Okay."

Anakin smiled, "I will always be here." Ahsoka smiled and leaned toward him, tears forming in her eyes. They were happy tears now, they were greatful tears.

As soon as he saw her lean in, Anakin wrapped his arms around his Padawan in the most secure hug he could muster. Neither of the two said anything, they just relished in each others' warmth and comfort hoping it would never end.

They hoped, but knew that the bond they shared would never cease to exist. The only thing that they needed was each other and that was one thing that they will never ever lose.

People! I'm back! Okay so there's way too much to say and not much room because I could go on and on and on. But, I'm gonna keep it short for you... hopefully. I'm so sorry for not being here. So much has happened to me in the past year and I've had close to no rest time. Neither of those are excuses, I'm just trying to explain. There are no excuses for not being here and I'm not trying for sympathy either.

So with that out of the way, I hope you all enjoyed this! This is going to be my new book, I just needed something new. This book will be a lot like my other one, just this one will focus on Anakin and Ahsoka from the Clone Wars! Ah! Ahsoka is my favorite Star Wars character of all time and I'm so excited to be writing about her! Just letting you know now, I do not ship them together. I think of them more as family. So if you would please keep your comments to yourself that would be much appreciated.

This book will be fluff galore and all things cute, so suggetions and ideas are welcome. As for Kanan and Ezra, I may or may not be updating it more. I have no idea what the game plan is at the moment, once I figure it out, I will message all of you letting you know what's going on. I will be editing what is already there more though, so look out for that!

But, yes, needless to say, I'm so excited to be writing about this era and all of the oppertunities opened! So thank you everyone for reading and if you have and questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to comment them ot message me directly! I'm always looking at and reading them! So thanks again, I love you! This is Kenziewankenobi signing out and may the Force be with you!

P.s I'm sorry for the spelling and grammar mistakes in here, please point them out and I'll go back and fix them, thank you!
