(Y/n) groaned as she woke up. The walls weren't thick enough to block the noise coming from down the corridor.

Getting out of bed and into the wheelchair, she went to go check it out. Kai was in Wu's room, wearing the Green Ninja gi.

She was surprised he hadn't noticed her. Probably it was because he was too focused on trying to be the destined Green Ninja.

Cole opened the door, winking at (Y/n), before going into the room. He laughed, looking at Kai as the ''Green Ninja''.

''Very nice. Perhaps if you tried the phrase "Fire dork," maybe it might work.'' Cole said, laughing.

Zane and Jay walked in their gaze on the hotheaded porcupine that stood before them.

Kai removed the mask from his face. ''How long have you all been watching?'' He asked.

(Y/n) raised her eyebrow at him. ''Since I woke up.''

''The Green Ninja suit. That's awesome!'' Jay said in awe.

''Well, I was looking for some kind of clue from Sensei and then I found this.'' He replied, looking at the floor.

''But you know only he who is foretold to face Lord Garmadon is destined to be the Green Ninja, and only he should wear the Green Ninja outfit. So Sensei would most likely be very-'' Zane told him.

''I know, I know. But I thought if I just tried it on, it might help me see my True Potential. It's not fair that you guys have unlocked your cool powers and I still haven't. Besides, Sensei's gone and we don't know when he's coming back-'' Kai was interrupted by a door opening.

''Right on time.'' (Y/n) said with a smile.

''Hello? I'm home.'' Wu called out.

''Sensei!'' The others called out. They then went to see him, while Kai changed back into his normal gi.

(Y/n) went onto the deck after practising her powers. Namely, her lightning powers.

Kai and Nya stood, while the hotheaded porcupine was talking to his sister. Seeing (Y/n), Nya rolled her eyes at Kai when he wasn't looking.

(Y/n) then grabbed the broom that was left on the deck, sneaking up behind Kai. He was too distracted by Nya that he didn't see her coming up behind him before it was too late. She swung the broom, it hit his neck (Not too hard) and he was knocked out.

''Wasn't that a bit too much?'' Nya asked. (Y/n) shrugged.

''He was getting annoying, and I didn't get all my sleep thanks to him.'' (Y/n) looked down at him, sighing.

The ninja sat at the table, eating. Garmadon picked up his fork, with a grey grub on the end. He winked mischievously, looking at Kai.

The Captain of Chaos then began to shovel the food into his mouth, making the others look at him.

''What's he eating?'' Cole asked.

''Condensed evil,'' Kai replied, not taking his eye off the Dark Lord. ''Supposed to be low in fat.''

While Garmadon ate, a grub flew off his plate, crawling towards Kai. He flicked it away with his fork in disgust, while (Y/n) continued eating.

Jay and Nya sat together, watching a romance movie.

Suddenly, the channel changed, and the two looked over to see Garmadon, changing the channel with the remote, laughing as he did so.

In a storm, Zane and Kai looked out from the window of the control room.

''Where's Garmadon?'' Zane asked the Fire Ninja.

He sighed. ''Sunbathing.''

On the deck, Garmadon laid on a beach towel, his eyes closed. Lightning flashed and thunder crackled, while he cackled.

Zane and Cole watched Garmadon play video games. Kai appeared, his gaze on the Dark Lord.

''He's not even playing the game right. He's just shooting and destroying things.'' Kai said.

''I've noticed when he isn't so focused on trying to turn Ninjago into his own image, he's actually quite fascinating.'' The nindroid noted.

''Sure, four arms are freakish, but all in all, he doesn't seem that bad of a guy,'' Cole replied.

''He might be pulling the wool over all your eyes, but not mine. He's up to something. And I'm gonna be ready for it.'' Kai told them.

Kai closed the door behind him. Nya, Wu and (Y/n) went to the door, and the others appeared. Nya tried to open the door, but it wouldn't budge.

''What are you doing?!'' Nya asked her brother.

''Discovering my True Potential!'' Kai answered, before being thrown into the wall by Garmadon.

''Unh! The door won't budge!'' Jay said, trying to open the door.

''Kai thinks he'll unlock his power if he stands up to Lord Garmadon,'' Nya told the others.

''Why would he think that?'' Zane asked.

''Cause he thinks he's the Green Ninja!'' Nya replied.

''Well, if we don't open this door soon, I think he's gonna be mincemeat. Stand back!'' Cole ordered the others, they stepped back, and he activated his True Potential, breaking down the door.

They went in, seeing Kai stand on top of a defeated Garmadon. ''I defeated him. I did it! Are my eyes glowing? Did I unlock my powers? Is this my True Potential? Argh! Why isn't it working?'' Kai asked the others, looking at himself.

(Y/n) facepalmed. ''Because you cannot defeat someone who allowed himself to be defeated,'' Wu answered the Fire Ninja. He then helped up Garmadon.

''I wasn't going to hurt you, boy. I was only fetching your weapons.'' The Dark Lord told Kai.

''But you were trying to steal them!'' Kai retorted.

''I asked him to get them. Perhaps it is best you do not reach your True Potential, or else someone could get hurt.'' Wu told him, stoic.

''Way to go, hero,'' Cole said, looking at him.

''Oh. Poor thing. Let me help you.'' Nya spoke, walking over to Garmadon to help him up.

''Yes. Poor thing.'' Garmadon replied, looking at Kai with a malicious grin. Kai clenched his fists and looked like he was about to blow up when the ship suddenly stopped.

''Sounds like we've finally reached our destination,'' Cole said.

The group went outside to see The Fire Temple, surrounded by a moat of lava. The ninja walked towards the entrance, while the falcon flew close by, with Nya using it for communication.

''The volcano seems to be on the verge of eruption, guys. All recent indicators tell me that this place is becoming increasingly fragile. Even the smallest rupture can make the whole thing go off.'' She told them, watching through the falcon's vision.

Seeing them enter the volcano, (Y/n) went to her room, while Nya watched the falcon vision.

Closing the door behind her, (Y/n) grabbed a book and went onto her bed.

'He used wind.' said a voice. She looked up, seeing no one. She hoped it was only her imagination. She continued reading.

Hearing the Bounty's engine's fire, she went to the deck, seeing the volcano explode. The others were at the front of the Bounty, looking at the volcano.

''Kai...'' Nya said, watching. Embers floated past, while smoke billowed above the volcano.

''Son,'' Garmadon said. Then, suddenly, a sphere of fire floated out of the volcano, and when it got closer, they saw Kai and Lloyd.

''It's Kai,'' Jay spoke, stepping back for the Fire Ninja. ''He's found his true potential!''

The Master of Fire landed on the Bounty, gently dropping Lloyd. He took off his mask, smiling as he looked at everyone. His flames then disappeared, and he collapsed on the deck, exhausted. The Bounty took off, away from the Fire Temple, and into clearer skies.

(Y/n) watched her village go past, the villagers seemingly ant-like in size, while the houses were like matchboxes.

In the control room, Lloyd hugged his father.

The ninja watched, with (Y/n) smiling at the boy who had been reunited.

''Dad? Is it really you?'' Lloyd asked, looking up at his father.

''It is, son,'' Garmadon answered.

''Dad? Why do you have four arms?'' Lloyd asked.

''He's gonna be okay,'' Cole said, and they cheered.

''Thank you, Kai,'' Garmadon replied, looking at him.

''But how did you survive? How did you discover the key to unlocking your powers?'' Zane asked Kai.

''I knew when I had to make a choice. I wanted the Fangblade so badly, to prove I was good enough to become the Green Ninja. But then I figured it out. All of my training to become the best Ninja wasn't in preparation to become the Green Ninja. It was... to protect him.'' Kai replied, looking at Lloyd.

The others looked at the Son of Garmadon, and he was confused. ''What?'' Lloyd asked, looking around at them. ''What is everybody looking at me for?''

''That means...'' Nya started. The Golden Weapons of Spinjitzu were brought in front of Lloyd, and almost instantly they reacted, emitting green lightning.

''Lloyd is the Green Ninja. I had thought it would be one of you, but it was him the whole time. It all makes sense. Not only have you four been chosen to protect the Golden Weapons, but also to protect the Chosen One. '' Wu spoke, looking at the others. The Golden Weapons fell to the floor.

''That means...'' Garmadon started, looking at Lloyd.

''The battle lines have been drawn, brother. Sadly, our family has only become more divided. Brother versus brother, and now, son versus father.'' Wu finished sadly, and the group developed looks of sorrow.

''Hehe, this is heavy and all, but whatever happened to the Fangblade!?'' Jay interrupted.

(Y/n) went into the control room, to grab something. She looked at the table, the Golden Weapons of Spinjitzu laid out, gleaming golden.

She grabbed the drawing Cole did for her and was about to leave the room when she noticed the golden weapons start to glow.

They floated into the air, emitting an orange light which lit up the room. Her eyes widened. She quickly went out the door, going to her room and getting into bed.

Staring at the ceiling, she thought of what she just saw. She could keep it a secret because there was already one potentially powerful ninja on board. (Y/n) stared at her hands, watching the electricity crackle as it jumped from fingertip to fingertip.

She knew she should keep it a secret, to keep them safe.

But secrets always have a way of coming out.

Zane stood by the door, writing something on a slip of paper. He slipped it beneath the door, and went to bed.
