So this is to discuss the rest of the animes I've watched over the summer, two of them are my ultimate favorites. So without further ado, let's get on with the discussion!

Anime #1

Shigatsu Wa Kimi No Uso / Your Lie in April (2014)

Status: Finished Airing / October 10, 2014 - March 20, 2015

Genres: Drama, Music, Romance, School, Shounen

My thoughts:

This. This anime brings a lot of emotions out of you. Holy crap, this is my favorite anime, and has been for two years now. I decided to give this anime a rewatch since Netflix conveniently had it, but I was scared to rewatch it, I knew how emotional this anime was, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to go through it again. But I decided to give it a rewatch because it is my all-time favorite anime. Don't let the opening deceive you, at first it seemed all fun and sunshine, but once you're past the first couple episodes, you start to sense how angsty this anime can get.

The plot in a nutshell is an aspiring piano musician, Arima Kousei, meets a beautiful violinist by the name of Kaori Miyazono. At first, he is infatuated and fascinated by her strange charms and quirks, but he realizes his feelings is much deeper than what he assumed. It seems as you find out more about the plot, it's apart of the cliche plots where depressed boy meets girl who changes his life and then turns out, the girl has issues of her own, but this anime by far has done the best job at portraying it. It also deals beautifully with growing up and adolescence, and the OST is one of the best I've heard! I'm not even kidding, you have to have a million boxes of tissues next to you when you watch this anime. It's the ultimate tear-jerker! Not even kidding.

The characters all have their own challenges, and I do love how they focus and give attention to their 'side' characters, giving them a story and a purpose. Kaori Miyazono is one of my all-time favorite characters, she reminds me of myself in a way. But you just love the characters, the anime does a fantastic job at portraying youth in the adolescence stage, dealing with heavy topics like love and grief. The music will also blow you away, it's amazing! There is not one thing I disliked about this anime. It is a pure masterpiece and a treasure I hold near and dear to my heart.

Anime #2

Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai / Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day (2011)

Status: Finished Airing / April 15, 2011 - June 24, 2011

Genres: Drama, Slice of Life, Supernatural

My thoughts:

So, I decided to give this a watch based on a recommendation from a friend. He knew I absolutely loved Shigatsu, so he recommended this one to me. I have to admit, it is a bit slow and takes a while to get into, but I enjoyed it. People have told me I also need a box of tissues for this one,  but in the end, I barely shed a tear.

The plot is a boy named Jinta Yadomi is living an a peaceful life away from school and his old childhood friends, it wasn't till his old friend, Meiko 'Menma' Honma suddenly appears, and states she cannot pass because of a wish she has. This wish eventually gathers Jinta with his old childhood friends, facing their regrets to when Menma passed long ago.

This is my honest opinion, but like many of the animes I've watched, I was obsessed with the characters, but with this anime, I got annoyed with the main pair, I wanted the side characters, but they were so one-dimensional and bland. The animation is beautiful, the plot is nice, but the characters ruined the experience for me. Shigatsu in my opinion really outperforms this anime, in terms of the character development, and 'more' painful tear-jerker scenes.

I don't have much to say about this but I did enjoy it, It just wasn't my favorite. But don't take my word for it, and give the anime a try yourself!

Anime #3

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (2009)

Status: Finished Airing / April 5, 2009 - July 4, 2010

Genres: Action, Military, Adventure, Drama, Fantasy, Magic, Shounen

My thoughts:

Oh my flipping gosh. Shigatsu barely beats this anime by a hair. This anime is a masterpiece. It is amazing. A brilliant masterpiece. Infinity over Infinity. Here let me tell you what this anime does right. Amazing plot. Amazing characters. Amazing OST. Amazing animation. Amazing openings. Amazing. Amazing. Flipping AMAZING.

The plot of this AMAZING ANIME is two brothers, Edward Elric and Alphonse Elric unfortunately have involved themselves in an accident that resulted in the loss of Alphonse's body and Edward's limbs. The two brothers set off to discover a way to retrieve their lost body parts but realize they've become apart of a deeper plan.

I don't want to spoil too much, because honestly watching this for the first time was so darn special because finding out everything and piecing together the pieces of the puzzle was so fun! My friends had a good time watching me cry and suffer through certain parts, but in the end, I was just so satisfied and happy, this anime is a pure masterpiece. We have these amazing characters with their own development, relationships between characters that you just fall for, a plot that leaves you guessing till the very end, women not treated as fan service but actual characters with their own motives and development, and heavy topics like God and religion dealt in an excellent fashion.

The only down side to this.... it's a bit hard to get into for the first couple episodes, but it really starts rolling once we reach pivotal plot details. But man, this anime is a masterpiece, ask anyone, no one can talk bad about this anime, there's nothing to talk bad about. No mistakes. It's perfection. Plus the openings are the bomb.com!

And that's it! Those are the last three I finished up my summer anime season with. As a new season approaches, I'll try to keep you guys up to date on what I'm watching next, it might be a small amount since I'm currently in college, and I barely get enough time to watch one episode throughout the week also, I picked up a kdrama in the mix, so... But! I can tell you Haikyuu!! Season 2 is next on my to-watch-list, as well as One Punch Man, and giving Neon Genesis Evangelion another watch once again (and hopefully finishing it!).

I'm always open to suggestions so give me a comment below on animes I should check out! Also and if you've seen any of these animes, tell me what you've thought about him! And, if you want a more deeper list of animes I've watched, add me there!
