The job was completed. Now, all that was left for Venus was for her to get the hell out of here.

That wasn't very hard. Venus was out of the VIP section in a second and easily blended into the crowd of screaming people at the club exit.

The night cold felt harsh against Venus' bare shoulders and she sucked in a deep breath the second she stepped outside. She knew that she should leave, she should probably get away from the scene as fast as she could before the police arrived, but Venus was spiraling.

She knew it. She tried extremely hard to hold it off until she had gotten away, but that wasn't the case. All of a sudden, Venus couldn't move. It felt like her legs were glued in position in the dark car park. Her breathing had become shallow and a million thoughts were passing through her mind.

Had she carried out the job successfully? How was she even sure The Target was dead? Why did she have to kill the guards too? What if one of the guards is still alive? What if one was secretly hiding somewhere, watching everything unfold? What if they saw who she was?

Venus tried to get a grip of herself as she felt a panic attack slowly start. This was so unlike her, she never questioned herself, but lately, that was all she seemed to do. The questions continued spinning through her mind and Venus' breathing became even more labored. The screams around her and the outside cold definitely didn't help.

"Venus?"

All of a sudden, everything she had been feeling was gone. Just washed away. It was as if it had all been flushed down a drain.

Venus slowly turned around, coming face to face with the last person she had expected to see here.

"Xena."

Venus couldn't help her eyes that roamed over the taller woman's body. She quickly took in every detail about her, her eyes lingered on the woman's tight leather pants taking in her thighs. Venus released a low breath. If she had already thought the woman was gorgeous, she didn't have the words to describe her in that moment.

"Are you okay?" Xena asked, oblivious to Venus' eyes feasting on her body. She reached out and softly placed her arm on Venus' upper arm.

The skin on skin contact was something Venus had never experienced before. It felt magical, crazy. She slowly felt herself being driven insane. Once again, her breathing had become shallow.

"I-I don't know." Venus replied. She couldn't form a smooth sentence without stuttering, not when Xena was touching her. What had shocked Venus most was the fact that she had been honest with her. She didn't grunt and mumble an 'I'm fine' like she usually would have. Instead, she told her the truth. This fact alone seemed to mess with Venus and she couldn't understand why on Earth she had done a thing like that.

"You came with friends, didn't you? Where are they?" Xena asked, her voice very soft.

Venus didn't know what to say. She obviously couldn't say she had actually come there on an assassin mission, so she just remained quiet. She could have simply lied, made up a story. But instead, she just didn't say anything at all.

She watched Xena's features. It was as if a strange anger had come over the woman. Xena swallowed hard. Venus watched her subtle Adam's apple bop in her throat. The woman seemed to be thinking a bit, then her eyes rested back unto hers. It was now Venus' turn to swallow.

"Come with me. I'd drive you home."

It wasn't a question. It was more like an order. But yet, it didn't carry with it the harshness of an order. It was soft. It gave Venus leeway to decline if she didn't want to.

Venus just nodded her head silently.

They stood unmoving in the same position they had been in. Xena's hand was still resting on Venus' arm. It seemed like neither of them wanted to move.

Ever so slightly, Venus watched as Xena shrugged her blazer off her shoulder, wrapping it around Venus. She got really close and Venus could smell her, a warm vanilla scent. Everything about Xena seemed to be so soft, a complete contrast to her appearance.

Venus knew that it was this dark appearance that had drawn her into the woman. She had been very shocked when she came to see such a soft woman beneath. But yet, Venus couldn't turn away from her.

"You're freezing." Xena stated, she was still standing very close to Venus. She gently rubbed her hands over the goosebumps that had formed on Venus' arms beneath the blazer.

Immediately, a plethora of things erupted within Venus. Various feelings, it was overwhelming and she couldn't think straight.

Venus shrugged Xena's hands off from her, stepping away so the woman was no longer touching her. She tried not to think about how empty she felt from the loss of contact.

"Let's go." Xena now said. She had placed her hands in her pockets instead.

Venus nodded and followed the woman as they navigated through the car park. Venus used Xena's back that was turned to hers to conceal the bloodstain that was on her dress. She had tried to get no blood on her at all, but the blood splatter was great, hence, some of it had gotten unto her dress. It was very minimal, not enough for anyone to outright notice it, but Venus still made sure to take extra precaution.

There was still panic occurring around them, but it had died down a little. No doubt, this would be on the headlines the following morning. But Venus didn't even feel any excitement in knowing that.

They arrived at Xena's car. It was a black sleek Mercedes, very in tune with the whole 'dark' thing that Xena had going on. It was a really nice car, Xena found herself wondering what it was the woman did for a living. She basically knew close to nothing about the woman, but then again, that was probably nobody's fault but hers.

The car was warm inside and Venus felt herself instantly relax. It was filled with Xena's scent. She felt herself unconsciously taking deep breaths, holding her breath, before slowly releasing it.

She was basking in everything Xena.

"Are you comfortable?" Xena asked once she had gotten into the driver seat.

Venus couldn't remember the last time she had felt this comfortable. She kept silent and just nodded her head.

Xena started the car and pulled out of the La belle nuit car park. The drive was done in silence. It wasn't the usual silence, but Venus could tell that Xena seemed to be deep in thought. She appeared to be agitated about something. She was gripping the steering wheel so tightly that her knuckles had turned a pale color. Venus swallowed hard, wondering what it was that could be going through the woman's mind. Her jaw was also incredibly set as she seemed to contemplate something.

More than anything, Venus wanted to reach out her hand. She wanted to touch the woman, to tell her that everything, no matter what it was, would be all right. She wanted to reassure her. But Venus didn't do that. She kept her hands clasped together in her lap.

Venus felt a lot more relaxed in Xena's presence, but not all the way because she knew that something was bothering the woman.

Before long, Xena's car pulled to a slow halt in front of Venus' apartment building.

"Are you going to be okay alone tonight?" Xena asked. Her body had now turned to face Venus. She was gazing at her intently, her eyes studying the smaller woman's face.

Venus swallowed once again. She desperately wanted to tell her the truth, she wanted to say 'no', wanted to tell Xena that she should come in; stay around with her, anything that would keep Venus away from the dark thoughts that were bound to come.

"I'd be fine." Venus lied instead.

Xena nodded, and Venus got out of the car. Mumbling a quick 'thanks' she made her way into the apartment building.

No matter how badly she wanted to, Venus didn't look behind her. Not even when she heard the car retreating.
