The moment Klaire knocked, the door went flying open. Damien stood towering over her with a twisted grin plastered on his face. The look made her take a step back, the movement making bringing a flash of worry across his features. "You wanted to talk?" She mumbled.

"Yes, come in." Pulling up his poker face, he moved aside and allowed her entrance, softly closing the door once she was seating comfortably in one of his office chairs.

"So..."

"There are some issues I would like to talk to you about, as Luna I wish for your imput."

"But of course." After taking a seat behind his desk, Damien pulled out a few files, grabbed a pen and began his questioning.

"There's a chance I may be going away for two weeks. I have to meet with a few old associates, would you be okay with taking charge?"

"I've done it before, your father quite often left me to run things. Why are you not taking me?"

"They also kill humans, I'm not risking your life."

"Are you going to be killing at all while your with them?"

"I've can't make any promises."

"Then don't go."

"Klarissa..." His eyes met hers and then there was silence. She understood why he wanted to go alone, he was almost truley separated from her, and she was sure he didn't want to go through the process again. But at the same time the idea of him killing put her in a foul mood.

"You will kill thinking it's a fun idea and the moment you see me you will put with a wall and start backing away. You know how stubborn I am, and you will get angry and then I will get angry because you are and then it will end in a huge fight and the pack will become divided."

"I won't kill, I called for the meeting to see if I can change their views."

"Why?"

"Because they're my close friends and I don't feel like having to threaten them because they threaten you. I want you to meet my friends Klaire, in order for that to happen I need to make sure you are safe."

"How cute."

With a role of his eyes, Damien filed away a few papers and looked back up, "Enough with that topic, the next one is your brother. I got a message from him the other day."

"And?"

"He wants to be closer to you, so he's moving into the territory a few towns over."

"There's more to this..."

"He mentioned combining our packs."

"What!? No! Absolutely not!"

"I told him you would say no but the man is persistant."

"Well my answer is no, if he wants to move close that's fine, but I like our pack the way it is."

"That's what I thought. So that's done, next topic."

"Which is?"

"Your old beta is gone."

"Mark is gone?" Her eyes opened wide at the news. Then it hit her, ever since her old beta got into a fight with Damien she hadn't seen a wisp of him.

"Yes, apparently while we were off in Britian, the guy packed up his stuff and left. Good thing too-"

"Don't say that! He's my friend!" Klaire defended instinctively.

"It doesn't matter if he was or not, I don't want him near you anyways."

"What why? He's not going to do anything Dam-"

"The man threatened to take you away from me right in front of your face! People can create pretty good disguises Klarissa."

"Damien the guy had feelings for me, and at some point I was in falling for him. I wanted him to be my mate before I found you, he was going to be hurt over the fact that he had no chance with me."

"You wanted him?" Damien growled, his wolf not pleased with her words in the least bit.

"Did is the word you should be focusing on. I about killed myself to be with you Damien, so I obviously have no doubts with who I would chose. Because of that we are not about to start a fight over a life you were not present for."

"You did what!?" Watching his anger rise, Klaire sighed and walked over to his desk, taking her place on his lap. With a small smile she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him softly on the lips.

"We are not going to fight. Forget I even mentioned it."

"How can I forget that!? Are you stupid?"

"I watched you die in my arms Damien!" Consumed by a flare of rage, Klarissa pushed herself to her feet and stood her ground, "Sorry if I was upset due to the fact that my mate died."

"You should have ran-"

"I love you Damien, and sorry if I don't want to be without you. I lost my alpha once, I don't want to loose you to."

"You...love me?" The words took him by surprise.

"Yes I do. I don't know what it is about you, but the thought of not having you in my life drives me crazy. I don't want to be alone."

"Come here." He whispered.

"What?"

"Come here..." With squinted eyes, Klaire inched closer and closer until she was touching him. With a soft smile, Damien stood from his chair and cupped her cheeks, pulling her face to meet his. The moment their lips touched, Klaire could feel the sparks flying. "Mine." He mumbled against her lips. She nodded in agreement, too lost for words.

"I'm sorry..."

"Don't be, this fight was stupid anyways. Lets just move on to the next topic."

"Alright." Taking back his seat, Klaire smiled passionately and slid back onto his lap, her eyes landing on the remaining papers still to be discussed.

"Lastly I want to add more to the house, just a few more rooms. The children here are growing older, your little she-wolf fighter is about to have a child, and I have a few members of my pack still coming. I know the pack home is large, but the feeling of being cramped doesn't still well with me."

"That will cost money Damien."

"My family has a lot of connections. Some of the wolves of the Treven pack are good with construction. I'll give them a call later and see if they could spare some time."

"Alright, if that's what you want."

"I do, but only if you do to."

"I do. Is that all you need?"

"Leaving me already?"

"You're not the only alpha in this pack that wants my attention Damien."

"Yeah...I know..."

"I'll see you tonight." She gave him and peck on the cheek and walked from the room without giving him time to respond. Walking to the stairwell, Klaire found Lillian and Victoria at the bottom of the steps, grins plastered on their faces.
