(Rayleigh x Reader)

You stepped into the bar. Folding back your hood. You glanced around the empty bar seeing a woman perk up to you. She tapped out her cigarette.

"Can I help you?" She asked.

"I'm looking for Rayleigh." You spoke.

"Rayleigh? What for?"

"We have quite the, history. I'd like to see him."

"Ah, an old friend. I see. Well he will be back soon. Can I get you anything?"

You shook your head approaching the bar. Shakky introduced herself. Both shaking hands before chatting. You both talked about Rayleigh's bad habits before laughing. You soon grew comfortable with her and ordered a drink.

"So, you Rayleigh's sister or something?" You asked.

She giggled, "Oh no. I'm his wife."

Your heart sank, "His wife?"

She nodded, "Rayleigh and I got engaged after Roger's execution."

You began to feel sick, you clutched the ring hung around your neck. Stepping off the barstool Shakky turned to you and furrowed.

"What about your drink?" She asked.

You didn't respond as you stepped out of the bar. You've gone pale as tears swelled in your eyes. You bumped into Rayleigh leaving the bar. But didn't notice as you headed to the docks. Rayleigh stepped inside cocking a brow to the doors turning to Shakky.

"Who was that?" Rayleigh asked.

Shakky shrugged, "She seemed to know you pretty well, knew your sleeping habits and stuff like that. She was looking for you until I brought up our marriage. Do you know her?"

Rayleigh turned back to the doors, "(Y/N)?"

You sat on a hill overlooking the sea. Tears pooled down your cheeks dripping down onto your hands. You whimpered thinking over what Shakky said. You sobbed softly when a hand took your shoulder. You gasped turning to Rayleigh.

"Rayleigh." You whimpered.

"Your okay." He muttered.

He knelt down to you cupping your cheeks. Fury flicked in your eyes as you slapped him across the face. He grumbled rubbing his cheek as you pulled the necklace off your neck and showed it to Rayleigh.

"What happened to us?! What happened to, 'When we meet again we will be together forever.'? I. I thought you loved me?!"

He embraced you as you hiccuped on his shoulder. You clutched onto his white coat. Sobbing softly as he held you close pulling you into his lap.

"I'm so sorry. You cannot forgive me for what I have done. But I'd take it back if I could. I never stopped loving you." Rayleigh said.

You sat back looking to him, "Then lets go, leave this all behind and-"

"I belong here."

You looked to your hands. Seeing the ring hung on the necklace.

"Your right. I have a wedding to get to anyway."

"Who's wedding?"

"Mine."

You looked up at him seeing he was shocked.

"Wh-who?!"

"I'm marrying the strongest man in the world. I figured I could come and see you and tell you before. But. I was too late." 

He cupped your face and kissed you roughly. Rayleigh pulled back after a minute as he looked to you. The two of you embraced clutching onto each other before pulling back. You cupped his face and smiled.

"No one can love you as much as I love you. And maybe someday I will be lucky enough to bare your last name."

Rayleigh chuckled, "Not even the strongest man in the world can love you as much as I can. You will always hold a special place in my heart."

You kissed him once more before the two of you embraced. Rayleigh pulled away taking the ring off the chain and slipped it onto your finger.

"If you wear this, I won't lose you again." He said.

You smiled sniffling softly. You looked to the ring as he kissed it softly.

"Make sure you tell Newgate to take care of you. If not he'll get a visit from his old friend Rayleigh."

You snorted a laugh, "Of course."
