The winter was rough. Trudging in snow, the bitter cold, getting sick, and less and less costumers. You lived in a small little town. Not many people lived in the town. You currently walked to the tavern you worked at. When. Pirates showed up. You sighed as you and your coworker watched them drain the booze dry. These were the Whitebeard pirates. You turned to Ace. He tilted back his hat with a large grin on his face.

"Can I help you Mr. Portgas." You asked.

"Ewe. Why are you being so formal just call me Ace. Now. Kiss me if I'm wrong but haven't we met before?" He grinned.

"Yes, a few months ago. You fell asleep in my apple tree and ate all the apples."

As the bar was closing Ace waited outside as you sighed.

"What do you want now Mr Portgas?" You asked.

"Just call me Ace." He groaned.

"Why aren't you partying with your friends."

"I wanted to walk you home."

So you and Ace started to walk home. Both of your feet crunched in the snow as you kept to his side. Since he was abnormally warm. You grumbled realizing heels weren't the best choice today.

"The sun is nearly gone. The lights are turning on. A silver shine that stretches to the sea. We stumble on a view. That's tailor made for two. What a shame those two are you and me." Ace hummed.

You glanced over to him before you both headed down to the street.

"Some other girl and guy would love this swirling sky. But there's only you and I, and we've got no shot. This could never be. Your not the type for me."

"And there's not a spark inside. What a waste of a lovely night."

You rolled your eyes as the two of your left the town heading to your small cottage. You grumbled as your heels weren't very durable on grass or snow.

"You say there's nothing here. Well let's make something clear, I think I'm the one to make that call."

"And I know you look so cute in your orange hat and capris."

You lead Ace to your small cottage as you removed your heels and tossed them inside.

The following morning you woke up alone. You sat up pulling the blanket over your chest looking around your room. Not a shed of his belongings remained. You sighed falling back on your bed and looked over to his side.

"I should be careful who I fall for." You muttered.

A knock on the door was brought to your attention. You got up pulling on your night gown and went to the door. You opened it as Ace stood with a bundle of flowers. He smiled handing them to you. You smiled taking them as you stepped aside and let him in.
