chapter ten
( age of ultron )

💫 ━━ THE ground beneath Paisley and a now standing Wanda started to chip and break. It rumbled and made noise, but more importantly, it started to float.

"You rise, only to fall." A fallen Ultron bot near the aunt and niece duo spoke. It's voice sent cold shivers down any and everyones spine. "You, Avengers, you are my meteor. My swift and terrible sword. And the earth will crack - "

Wanda was quick to reach out and use her witchy magic to pull its electrical heart from its chest. It's voice crackled and attempted to speak but it didn't work, it's light went out and it fell limp against the road.

Pietro and Ryder still stood together. Ryder was trying his best to make sure that civilians didn't get to close to the edge, and Pietro was speeding around and everyone he crashed into an Ultron bot it broke.

"With the weight of your failure. Purge me from your computers, turn my own flesh against me. It means nothing." The Ultron bot closest to Ryder and Pietro spoke spookily. It was cold and calculated, it was meant to scare them, to make them think the worst. "When the dust settles, the only thing living in this world, will be metal."

By the time Pietro decided to speed over and crash into the bot, hoping it would shut it off, the bot flew away and stopped speaking.

Ryder was blasting things with the mini ironman blaster that Tony had given him. He said it was because he needs something extra to help fight with. Of course, Ryder only chose to use it now because Pietro had told him too.

Speaking of Pietro, he was currently running like there was something chasing him. There was, it was an Ultron army of bots. It definitely fuelled him and he pushed himself to run even further.

"Go. Go. Go!" Clint spoke hurriedly as he ushered Wanda and Paisley inside of the building. He was trying to make sure they were safe, along with himself being safe as well from the Ultron bots that were nearing. His one arm was wrapped around Paisley, keeping her as close to him as he could. His other arm was wrapped around Wanda making sure that she too was close as safe.

The three crashed into a building, smashing through the class and landing roughly on the floor. All three moved against the wall in an attempt to further themselves away from the Ultron bots.

"How could I do this?" Wanda spoke, regret clouding her mind. She could have said no to Ultron. She didn't have to help him in the beginning. This could have played out differently and she knew that, but she had been influenced by her revenge on Tony Stark.

"Hey, hey, you okay?" Clint asked Wanda before he turned his head towards Paisley and noticed the small droplets of red forming all around her body. She was bleeding from small wounds caused by the broken glass around them. "You okay?"

Paisley nodded but didn't talk. Her aunt on the other hand couldn't look at Clint as she stayed in a wrapped up ball position. "This is all our fault."

Clint rested his hands on Wandas shoulders. "Hey, look at me. It's your fault, it's everyone's fault. Who cares?" Wanda looked up now, listening to Clint as he talked her out of her panic. "Are you up for this? Are you? Look, I just need to know because the city is flying, we're fighting an army of robots, and I have a bow and arrow. None of this makes sense." Clint shook his head and glanced back to see Paisley fiddling with something that she had found on the ground.

Gunshots echoed and bullets flew past them and Clint pulled Paisley toward him. "But I'm going back out there because it's my job. Okay? And I can't do my job and babysit. It doesn't matter what you did, or what you were. If you go out there, you fight, and you fight to kill. Stay in here, you're good, I'll send your brother to come find you, but if you step out that door, you are an Avenger." Clint pointed towards Paisley. "She, she's a bad ass. Be like her."

"I'm a bad ass?" Paisley repeated and turned her body towards Clint.

Clint gasped. "No. Don't repeat that. Alright Wanda, good chat." Clint got up with Paisley following him. "Yeah, the city is flying."

"We're flying!" Paisley happily exclaimed which made Clint chuckle. He felt her happiness radiating off her despite the situation everyone was in. Paisley waved a quick goodbye to her aunt who was still panicking about the whole situation.

"Let's go, she will follow, okay?" Clint said as he shot arrows and ushered Paisley forward.

Time was quick to pass, and before Clint and Paisley noticed, they were trapped against the side of a car with Ultron bots cornering them. The bots had one goal, and they were trying their hardest to achieve that.

Wanda Maximoff, she had other plans. She stepped out of the building she had been in and thrust her hands out. Red beams of witchy mist knocked the bots away and for some, it even ended their metal lives.

When Clint saw what was happening, he was quick to help and release arrows into the bots he aimed at. Every single one hitting them right where he wanted them to go.

Paisley, she stood as tall as she could and copied her aunts actions. Her blue mist floating from her finger tips and towards the bots that her magic could reach. She twisted and pulled, tearing the Ultron bots apart.

"All right, all clear here." Clint spoke into his earpiece, telling everyone who could be listening that he, Wanda and Paisley were in the clear for now.

Pietro, had other plans. With Ryder on his back, still clinging to him like a monkey, he zoomed forward and slowed down beside his daughter and sister. He picked Wanda up, speeding her towards a cop blockade where he dropped her and sped back towards his daughter. "Pais." Pietro spoke as he knelt down and cautiously looked over all the scrapes and such littering her body.

"Battle scars!" Ryder shouted and pointed towards Paisleys bumps, bruises and cuts. "Cool."

"Dad," Paisley didn't hesitate to wrap her arms around her fathers neck and hug him like he was her life line. He pretty much was. "I missed you."
