Three words, Six the musical. I'm not insane I swear! I know that every teenage girl likes it, but the English royal history has always fascinated me and this just put it in song form.

For those of you lucky survivors Six is a play featuring an all female cast. Technically there's twelve of them, six alternates that basically fill in if one girl is out, and the main six cast. They each play one of the six wives of King Henry VIII.

Catherine of Aragon-Divorced

Anne Boleyn-Beheaded

Jane Seymour-Died

Anne of Cleves-Divorced

Catherine Howard-Beheaded

Catherine Parr-Survived

Guess he liked Catherines and Annes.

There are only nine songs in the musical, so I like to listen to the ones I deem most upbeat when I workout. They also have amazing costumes.

The premise of this musical is that they are all forming a band, but can't decide who is going to be the lead singer. They decide to have a sing off and whoever had it worst with their mutual ex-husband gets to be the lead. Kind of weird, but the songs are amazing.

Each girl basically gets their own song, and there's like an introduction, a middle, and an end one too. Quite honestly the lines between musical and concert get a little bit blurred, but whatever.

The songs are also not only amazing just in general, but from a writing perspective. There's a ton of thought put into each lyric that makes the meaning way deeper. For instance "All You Wanna Do" is Catherine Howard's song.

The song comes out as lighthearted cheerful and it makes it seem like a party girl.

"We have a connection

I think this guy is different"

She says that about every guy, because ultimately she is young and has been essentially forced into all of her relationships. She really believes that the false promises she receives at first will last.

"Birds and the bees me.......Playtime's over"

Proves how young she truly was, about sixteen when she was made to marry the forty-nine year old king. Everything really went downhill for her when she was thirteen though.

Anyways I won't spoil the ending, but I really want to see this live someday. It's my favorite musical.
