I kept watch as Mia and Drake were resting. No other 'panthers' had come, fortunately. I never knew Drake even had the ability to use that kind of magic. 'When I was a mercenary, Mages were there aswell, but I was never able to see things like that. What other things can he do?' I thought.
I looked at sleeping Mia. I sighed in relief. I was glad that she turned out okay. I shouldn't have let that happen to her.

'She looks kinda cute when she's sleeping...Wait what am I thinking?! Of course not!'
Then a voice interrupted my thoughts.
"How long have me and Mia been asleep?" It was Drake's voice.
"About 40 minutes. You should go back to sleep." I suggested. He shook his head a little.
"I'm fine. Just a little dizzy." I took out a water bottle out of my bag and handed it to him. He took it and drank it. He put the now empty bottle into his bag.
"Thanks."
-----
Mia soon woke up and we gathered our things and moved on. Awhile later, I spotted a burnt book in the floor.
"Guys, look, another book." I went over to it and picked it up.
"Should I read it?" I asked. They both nodded. I opened it and a couple of the corners were burnt away and some of the ink on the pages were smudged faintly.
"There's a couple of pages."

       'February 16
Me and my men have been trying to fight off His army of the undead. We will all surely soon fall. The townsfolk has been taking shelter in the mines of the city, my son and sister among them. I hope they are doing okay. My wife was unfortunately one of the first to die. I could never forgive myself for letting it happen.
Sincerely, Whitewater General,
Harold Keaster'

I turned the page and started to read again.

'February 20
Our city had been falling and has been almost entirely burnt and destroyed. There is almost no supplies for us to collect. Most of our men have unfortunately died of either illness, starvation, or in battle. His army has taken more and more of our people and burned them alive. I haven't seen my son and sister in days. I hope they are safe.
                                                              Sincerely, Whitewater General,
                                                                                Harold Keaster'
"That's tough..." I trailed off.
"Yea..." Mia added.
"Should I keep reading?" Mia nodded her head.
"Yeah." Drake answered. I looked at the next page and continued.

'March 5
More and more of us have fallen. I will soon join my loyal men. Only few of us are left, but we have fought for our people. I do not think I can go to such an extent to do so. Our ruler has been killed, along with our second-in-command.

I'm thirsty.

I'm hungry.

It hurts all over.

We will surely fall. As much as I believed in the flourish of this city in the past, it is just not possible that we will survive. I'm going into the mines to see the remaining. I must see my son and sister. This may be my last entry. If I fall, whoever may be reading this, please, protect them. Protect Louis and Silvia.
                                                                             Yours truly, Whitewater General,
Harold Keaster'

I turned a couple of pages and nothing was left. There was just blank.
"Even when near death, he still cared about his son and sister..." Drake trailed off, remorse in his voice.
"That's so sad..." Mia added. My eyes closed in saddness. I then opened them and placed the book gently back on the floor.
"Let's go." I said, starting to walk off. I heard their footsteps follow.
-----
We found a couple of coffins of those who died in here, there were flowers placed on their hands. Skeletons of people aswell. Eventually we found a room that was massive and squared. There was a large carpet that almost covered up the room. It was ripped off and scratched incredibly, that you could barely tell that it was once a carpet. It was burnt and the color of the former rug was blue, yellow, orange, red, and light green. Bits darker red stained it.
"Guys...this was a playroom...for children...." Mia said, her lime green eyes showing saddness. I looked around, and saw a couple of toys.
"Kids...oh gosh, I can't be here. There were children here, now there's not." Drake announced quickly stepping out of the room, the same thing he did back at Ironmyre with the toy we found in one of the houses.

Mia and I then stepped out and continued on. We found minecarts going down and we took them, and we gave our minecarts a push and hopped in them. There were a couple more than just three. More like eight, actually. We then got off and continued.

Pitter-pat, pat-pitter, pitter-pitter, pat-pitter, pitter-pat, pat-pat.

Before I even had the chance to raise my sword at it, I felt large paws on the back of my shoulders, luckily not its claws, but another one of the creatures pinned me to the floor.

"GRAYSON!" Mia and Drake shouted.

The 'panther' growled and raised his claw to scratch me, but I got out of the way quick enough, and it scratched the floor instead, leaving an ear-blinding sound as its nails made contact with the ground. I heard a bowstring pull back and fire, and it went straight into the beast's head. Drake then stabbed it on its side deeply and got out his seals. It's hand was on Andruin, so I had no sword to fight back with. The 'panther' cut the paper that were in Drake's grasp with his its tail, along with cutting his hand.

"No! Mia! Distract it!" Drake told her, and started to chant a spell to create more. Mia then shot its elbow, shoulder, and head. The beast then scratched my back, but not deeply at all. It lowered its head and grabbed something from my now open backpack. The maps to hatch the egg.
"NO!" I shouted and punched the side of its face. I saw Drake put his magic gloved hand on and held it in front of him and chanted,

"Magiska Korrupta!" He called and then glowing white writing appeared in front of his gloved hand and the writing quickly got put on the 'panthers' skin. The beast roared loudly and a black sphere of what? Energy? Came and shot Drake against the wall.
"DRAKE!" Me and Mia called.
The 'panther' then glitched faintly and showed similar writing as the spell Drake had just used. It dropped one of the two maps and ran away with the other. Instantly I ran over to Drake while picking up the other map in the process. Mia did aswell. He wasn't unconscious, but his eyes were shut tightly and one of his hands was holding his head and the other was pressed tightly on the floor.
"Drake?! Are you okay?" Mia urged. He then stopped shutting his eyes tightly, but still kept them closed. She got went into her bag.
"Sorry...Grayson...about not being able to get the other...map..." He mumbled. Mia got the bandages out and wrapped his hand.

"It's fine. We'll get it back."
"And if we don't?" I paused. He opened his eyes slowly. I gave him a reassuring smile.
"We'll find it. I promise. Does your back or stomach hurt? You did hit the wall after all." I said.
"It hurts a little, but, I think I can manage it." Drake stated, standing up.

Mia and I did aswell, and I picked up the things that were dropped by the creature and put them back in and closed it. I put the map in my pocket just to be safe, and picked up my sword.
As we continued exploring, I got the feeling that I hadn't brought up in the back of my mind. The feeling that we were being watched by someone or something. It was probably just the creatures that were down here with us.
----

"So...good news...we found ladders to get back up...bad news...its ladders." Mia says laughing a bit, as all three of us overlooked them.
"Should we really go back up? As much as I liked to, we need to find the other map."
"Wait, but, remember how the map changed when we got close to the Magical Library? Maybe we just needed one map along. And it's possible that it is the same for this one. So then we wouldn't need another one?" Mia asked, still vaguely unsure herself.

"Now that you mention it, that may actually be the case. And if it was Him that sent those things down there in the mines, wouldn't they come back up at one point?" I brought up.
"Maybe we can run into one, and get it back."
"Hmmmm, I don't know..." Drake disargeed.
"Just go back up. You're going first." Mia said. He sighed.

"I'm still worried." Drake said, but did as Mia told and slightly cringed when he moved his arms. When he was up high enough, Mia followed after him, and I did after Mia. I looked back down when I was about halfway up the ladder.
'Please turn up.' I thought, and continued climbing.
