When a certain thirteen-year-old Majella Smith was forcefully brought to a place where she'd live for three years against her will, she received a relatively small box room she would have to share with one other, a blonde-haired girl no more than a few months younger than Majella herself.

This blonde-haired girl was always quiet, she rarely ever spoke. Her hair too, it was immaculate, always immaculate, often draped onto and a little beyond her shoulders. The fringe was always perfect. Majella never saw this girl brushing or altering her hair at any time nor did she ever see anyone else look after this girl's hair for her, still immaculate it always was and always would be for the duration Majella spent in this off the record facility.

The girl also seemed to be off limits to the abusers that Majella had put up with. Why this was so, Majella had no idea. If it came down to these horrid beings looking to live out their sick fantasies and for no other reason then surely, they would choose this other girl over Majella for as far as Majella was concerned, this other girl was prettier, she was quiet and Majella could imagine this blonde girl not putting up much of a fight so why Majella put up with so much while her roommate was often let be was beyond her.

Majella was sure that those who violated her were more than living out fantasies; they were sadistic animals who also enjoyed dishing out pain. She also did not begrudge the blonde girl anything, if anything at all Majella was glad that the seemingly harmless girl did not have to suffer like what she did. There had been one abuser quite a bit more aggressive than the others who in time, as Majella well and truly knows, would get his comeuppance.

The first time Majella had been taken forcefully from her room was not the first time she had been violated though on this occasion it became clear to Majella as to what she believed about her roommate. On previous occasions Majella had been taken from elsewhere in the building and not necessarily in plain view of others let alone the blonde girl.

Despite being confronted in her room on this occasion Majella knew exactly what she was in for. With it being quite early on in her stay in this place Majella put up a fight just as she did on previous occasions of abuse. The big man in white was strong and a thirteen-year-old girl was no match for his strength.

The blonde girl had been left alone in the room she shares with Majella at the time when the big guy had come. As he took Majella, he warned the roommate to remain quiet, he knew he didn't have to but did so anyway as he knew as well as anyone else that the younger girl doesn't say much if anything at all. There more than appeared to be a fear within him being so close to this blonde girl, still he came to get what he wanted.

If this other girl were to cause a stir, Majella felt that the big man would not follow through on any threat he may send her way and it is also felt he may even let her be in just about any situation. It more than seemed to Majella that her abuser was frightened either of the blonde girl herself or of something possibly connected to that girl.

With such being as it is and if it could be told that of these two girls one comes from Darkness and the other from Light, it may be obvious at first which is which and based on all other things one could be forgiven wrongly believing which one is which. Majella may be aware of certain things at this point in time, still she is not fully aware or in any way aware of her origins.

The orderly himself may be of Darkness with a feeling he can assault those within its shadow without fear of consequence. He may also be aware of the presence of Light to the point it is Light he fears or perhaps the thought that a Light can snuff out the dark thus fearing the blonde-haired girl. If only he could know that it would be Darkness or something which has come from Darkness which will be what will ultimately ... snuff him out.

In a world or two of hurt Majella at the current point in time in question was returned to where she had been taken, after which the door to her shared room was locked. She had been crying, her eyes still welled, her dark hair a mess as too were her clothing.

Majella moved to sit in a corner upon that return, a corner that has become a regular corner for her to sit in and rock back and forth. She, of course, wanted nothing more than to be alone at this point but with the door to the room being locked neither she nor her roommate could leave the room. Seconds pass, looking across the room she sees the blonde girl looking back.

'What? ... What are you looking at?' Majella speaks with an anger and force she regrets the instant she speaks the words. Despite the lack of proper contact up to this moment given their proximity, her roommate had never done her any harm and Majella definitely did not begrudge the other girl for not kicking up a fuss when the men came for another of their sessions.

The girl moved slowly towards Majella; her right hand soon being held out. It, the hand, began to glow as if a light were shining from within it. Majella feels a compulsion to take the offered hand in her own while also flinching from it uncontrollably. No matter the pain she was in she did reach and take that hand and in the instant she done this, she was rushed by vision, a vision she would see in her mind's eye and almost feel with every ounce of her being.

Majella sees light, bright white light. She sees an alleyway. She sees an infant wrapped in blankets, she sees a boy pick her up as if she herself were someone very small, as if Majella herself was that infant down an alleyway. She sees a woman and a man, mother and father though there is another father somewhere, perhaps everywhere? There is a childhood, happy for the most part, happy from within the family unit then there is difficulty.

Someone is challenging the father, accusing him. The vision shows others doing this too and to the mother as well. Soon, seem through larger eyes but still small, a child of eight or nine perhaps, taunting comes ... more accusations ... witch ... you don't belong ... witch. There is travel, a move perhaps, a forced move.

Something is mirrored in this as there had been a brief period when Majella herself was taunted and accused, taunts and accusations that had her question herself as no child should have to do. There had been a move for Majella too, for her father and sisters then things moved on.

Switching back away from her own memory, the visions involving her roommate continues and moves through a quick passage of time. There is an accident ... maybe not so much an accident as it may be an attack. There is twisting and there is blood, a lot of blood ... death, that of a mother and a father. There is also ... fire.

'Oh my god' Majella speaks. 'That's why you are here, right? Your parents have been killed and you have no one to care for you so you are here.'

Majella moves to embrace her roommate when at such a point she realizes her recently acquired physical pain is gone. She has been healed, physically at least. Then she realizes something else.

'Your name, it is Cassandra, isn't it?'

The blonde girl nods then Majella hears her speak for the first time.

'There are some things I can do and others I can't. I wanted to stop that man from taking you, but I am just a girl ...'

'I know, it's alright, he will get his ... someday'. There is another embrace. 'So, what do we do now?'

'There is nothing we can do right now but wait. We will need to be strong for one another while we are here.'

There is a beginning here, one which is not discussed. Something else not discussed is the presence of a small wooden chest, a trunk of some sort. Majella has noticed it a number of times and she has noticed that it is padlocked. Whatever could be inside? Whatever is inside is something not revealed or inquired about, at least while Majella has been around.

Whatever the future holds, there is plenty of time for a destiny to arrive or a possible destiny to evolve and take center stage. Things will evolve on their own accord.

When the opportunity eventually came to vacate her prison, a dark force was guiding Majella, ensuring she would find her way out. The want to leave was compulsive in more ways than one, at that her thoughts went back and forth between leaving the building and leaving her sister like friend. The compulsion to leave alone was too strong; the dark guiding force was too strong so leave without delay is what she did.

Would there have been time to find Cassandra and aid her to escape too? If Cassandra could have escaped right then and there, then where could she go? She'll be fine; the girl with the blonde hair will be perfectly fine and they will see each other again ... in time.

There was something else too, a hidden light, a different kind of force that suggested peace, Cassandra indeed would be fine, she was where she needed to be, and a time would indeed come when Majella and Cassandra would be re-united.
