Ashton lost sight of Kelsey, Allen and Barry. Cursing, she dropped her motorbike and began walking the streets, searching for other things to do. She constantly pulled unsuspecting people into rooms and killed them there, not caring who that person was or of any evidence she might leave. She had truly gone mad, and wasn't human anymore, she was a monster, and unfortunately, an unstoppable one.

No longer human, Ashton was carefree, swinging her axe around on the busy street and killing people one by one. Nobody noticed her. She was somehow invisible and apparently, invincible too. She had forgotten who she was, and was not herself anymore, the old Ashton who loved scary movies, had many friends, and always slept late was gone. Now there only existed the soul eaten girl, who went about killing everyone around her. The girl who didn't care, the girl who was psychotic.

Leaning against a wall, Ashton watched people walk by, not noticing her at all. She laughed as she beheaded another dog, who's owner didn't notice until a few minutes later, when they had walked farther away from Ashton. She went to a nearby club and saw the news blaring on the television, it was live and the reporter was saying something about "mysterious kills" and "psycho killer". Knowing that was her, she smiled to herself and ordered a drink from the bar, who was confused when he looked at her bloody axe, but nonetheless gave her the drink.

Ashton sat across from the bartender for a while, examining her bloodstained axe and several other weapons she had, all of which he bartender didn't seem to care much about. "I murdered those people," Ashton stated plainly, this clearly caught the bartender's attention and he turned around to stare at her like she was mad.

Ashton just grinned, drank the last of her drink, and left without paying, which made the bartender angry and he began to run after her, but she immediately shot him with a single bullet.

Allen was the only one awake. The night was peaceful, no sound was made except the constant chirping of birds and he rustling of leaves. The howling of the wind almost felt peaceful to Allen. He blinked back tears as he fought off thoughts of his parents. Ashton... he heaved a sigh and lay down on the floor, the only thing that desperate him from the floor were two layers of thin blankets, the top one partly wet due to some of Allen's crying.

He felt sleepy, but couldn't sleep. He stared up at the roof of the barn. A few stars were peeking out from between the cracks in the roof. Sighing, Allen decided to go out. He slowly rose from his bed and walked outside. The wind felt cool against his skin and refreshing to his swollen eyes. He took in a deep breath, clearing the smell of horse dung filling up his nose. Then he breathed out. It felt as though he had breathed out all his problems... he felt calmer now, safer. He could think straighter too.

Then his knees buckled beneath him. And soon, he found himself kneeling down in the dirt among grass and flowers. He felt the perfect moment to pray coming, and so he did — he prayed. For the first time in a long time, he prayed. He pressed for his family, for his friends, his own safety, but most of all, he preached Ashton would be normal again. A few minutes passed. Allen opened his eyes. The moon seemed to shine brighter after his prayer. He felt a thud on the ground beside him, and found Kelsey sitting on his right.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" Kelsey closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "It smells refreshing, and good."

Then before Allen could realise what had happened, Kelsey broke down crying. "I just miss Ashton so much. I can't believe she tried to kill us."

Allen rubbed her back affectionately. "She'll be fine. We'll get her to be okay again."

"Promise?"

Hesitating, Allen reaches his pinkie finger. "Promise."

Then, right on cue, a dozen fireflies flew out from around them, and encircled the two. Somewhere out there, a clock struck midnight as police sirens rang out to find a mysterious, faceless serial killer.
