pardon the long author's note:

as you all know, i've been on hiatus for quite a while. a lot of things have happened.

the gist of it is that i can no longer like him. he's done things that made me stop liking him. i will never like him again, i can guarantee you that.  but while i did have feelings for him, i certainly enjoyed everything that was gong on--whether it be the close friendships i made with him and his friends, or just how everything seemed so much brighter and beautiful. alas, things happened and i no longer like him in a romantic way (i would like to be friends with him, but that's kinda impossible at this point).

this, along with the stress i face in school and at home stopped me from writing for a while. but while i was sorting out my feelings, i realized i wanted to continue writing this story. because even though i stopped liking him, i fell in love with my characters and their relationships, and i absolutely love this story. so plot-wise, i'm continuing this. after all, it is based on a true story. so even though i can't say i like him, i can say that mae still likes jasper. despite this, i'm still a sucker for romance, which is why i'm still writing the story.

so to everyone supported me by reading this story while i was long gone, thank you so much. i write just to see you guys smile. so thanks.

wanting to be with someone forever

only happens in books or movies;

sometimes life is uncontrollable,

and things never go as expected.

despite knowing the truth,

There is always that one time of the year where everyone gets simultaneously stressed out. And this was one of these times. Months were spent preparing for exams, and getting the best score. Because that reassured you that you might get into the college that you wanted.

"Jasper what did you get as your score?" Mae asked, hiding her results behind her back so no one else would see.

"Haven't checked," he replied, and looked at his phone as the result appeared on the screen, "Oh. I got a pretty good score. It's in the high 1500s."

"Same!" Minhee exclaimed, excited that they got similar scores. Minhee never mentioned it, but she was most likely happy that she could now be on par with Jasper. 

"How about you, Mae?" they asked. Mae suddenly looked away, ashamed of her score. 

"Come on, we won't say anything about it. If you got a score, then you got a score," he said softly. She sheepishly unlocked her phone and showed her results to them, expecting an insulting remark or a laugh. Instead, she was met with a pat on the back.

"Hey, that's not a bad score at all!" Minhee said.

"But I wish I had a higher score."

"Why though? The score you have is pretty good," Jasper replied.

"Well obviously because I won't get into a top college. You and Minhee got really high scores, so it's guaranteed that you'll do well." Of course, the only reason I want to go to a top college is just so I can still see you.

"I mean it doesn't have to be a top college, right? You tried your best, and even if you won't get into the top college, you're really smart so you should be able to get into a really good one regardless. Don't worry about it. I have faith in you and that you'll do well." Guess I never had a chance anyway, academically or otherwise.

"Yep, don't be so worried. Besides, you have a lot of attempts for this, so you can definitely do well later on," Minhee added, and Mae gave her a sad smile.

"You know what getting a high score means to me. Why I need to do it at least," Mae whispered to her.

"Of course I know. And yes, maybe I got a higher score than you. But I know that you'll do better the next time we have to do the tests, and I know you'll get the score that you really want. Don't stress. Good things always comes to those who wait, right?"

i'm so glad i'm writing again lol.

ik in this chapter that mae seems borderline obsessed with jasper but that's certainly not the case--she just likes him enough that she wants a future with him. maybe it seems like she's obsessed? i don't want it to be like that anyway.

as you can see, the relationship between minhee and jasper are progressing very quickly. but mae still exists, so don't forget that maexjasper is still a possibility. i have a lot of other characters as well, and they have their respective pairings as well. so i'll try to get special chapters in for them as well.
